Last night we went to our monthly potluck for the South Bottoms Reunion Committee... As always we had great fun, and food with wonderful friends....smile... We missed last month due to me and my health! sad... We always hate to miss it........... Do you ever go to potlucks??? I am always amazed by the fact that there is such a variety of food especially when no one knows what others will be bringing... Since I had a late doctors appointment we just picked up fried chicken, but there was so many wonderful dishes...tatertot casserole, loosemeats, pork loin, cabbage and polish sausage (not my favorite..smile..but loved by lots of others), cheesy potatoes, scalloped corn (my favorite), coleslaw, rolls and butter...and more........... Of course there were desserts...red velvet, lemon and angel food cakes!!!
Well, as we waddled out we caught this beautiful site! A full moon gleaming over our little church. We were wondering what star that is, which is shining to the south of the moon! Anyone..know???

Washed 17 diapers, the blanket and the clothes. Lawerence went to Luton. He says Mrs. Brown, her children and Hallie are sick.
Januray 5, 1937:
Washed 9 diapers. Mr and Mrs Anderson were here. Lawerence went to see the doctor. He has to fed her milk. Made a cake. It turned out better.

Glad you had such a great potluck dinner. All sounds delicious!
Your little church looks beautiful. You do get some lovely photos Gert. This is a guess, maybe the star is the planet Venus. We have amateur astronomers in the family, so will ask them if they know.
Today we took the girls up to the hills again to the National Rhododendron Gardens. It was a beautiful day and the gardens amazing. Will be doing a post on it soon

Ooohh~ potlucks are the best! I always enjoy them so much. I agree with Betty~ that is a beautiful little church!
I can remember when pot-luck dinners were a big thing at church...Not so much any more...However, we are having a huge community Thanksgiving service this next week...I'll bet there will be a huge array of different foods...my favorite..the desserts!
