Today...

Here is another pot we bought yesterday! I love herbs and this one was full of basil and thyme! Hopefully, this fall we'll bring it in and have some fresh thyme this winter to cook with! Won't that be fun!! Do you have any herbs in your kitchen or in your garden??

Tom was busy planting his garden today. He was so happy to get that done. We'll take a picture of it in the future so you'll see what and how he planted it..this year. We have lots of rhubarb this year also...so I know we need to make a pie...hummm maybe tomorrow!! smile...

There is a carnival in town...we saw this yesterday when we went to the Farmers Market! Tom was teasing me...like..."hey you want to go to the carnival"..wrong!! There was a time I loved the it...but not the rides...I never liked any of them. I think the Ferris Wheel makes for a pretty picture...but you'd never get me on it! Me and heights just don't get along...ha..ha... How about you? Do you like or did you like going to the carnival???

Tonight my granddaughter Ashley, and I did Facetime...yeah!! This was the first time I had tried it and for the most part it worked great! We did lose our connection a couple times, but for the most part...it was amazing, love seeing her, it was just like having her in our home for a visit!! (this picture is one of their engagement photos... They went to a strawberry farm...all the photos were amazing!) They will be getting married this month! How is exciting is that??

I hope you've had a wonderful (still) spring day!!!

Hot Summer SONday...

Today Tom went out to the garden again..smile... I had him trim off some basil and hopefully tomorrow we'll pick more and try to make some pesto. We've talked about doing this every year and maybe this will be the year of the Pesto!...smile...

I looked out and saw the birds at the feeder off and on all day. Of course they were also enjoying the bird bath...as it was a very HOT day..so they like us need to stay cool. I'm sure they need the food to give them the energy to make it through the day.

While looking out...I noticed how badly this plant needs to be deadheaded... Maybe tomorrow morning before it hits the 100 mark we'll be able to get out and do something.

Today we just stayed in and watched a lot of TV, including our Church ministry we enjoy when we're not able to attend our own church services. Tom made a beautiful green salad for lunch. When my daughter Brenda was here last summer, she told us about all we could mix into our greens....so I took her advice and told Tom, lets add a little sweet corn, craisens, tomatoes, shredded turkey and  cheese. It was really yummy and cool on a very HOT day! How was your day? Cool, I hope.....

"The Many Thoughts of Grace"

May 1, 1940: Really cold today. Snowed in some places. Mama and Dad came down. Made a pudding, was pouring it in dishes when baby upset a dish on his arm. Burned real bad. Jack didn't come home.
