Fourth-Fun-Family

The Fourth we went to our granddaughters cabin on the river, for the day!! Here were the greeters, Maggie Sue, Lorelai and Daddy Matt.

Since the day was 'hot'..I stayed inside in the air-condtioning for quite awhile. Maggie Sue came in to entertain me for a little bit..smile.. Isn't she  just sooo cute?? I love her little blue skorts, and look at those blue socks and her little Croc's! Her and her sister Lorelai had matching outfits!!! They had been to a parade earlier. Lorelai had a bucket full of candy!! She did share with me!! I got a couple tootsie rolls!!

We had a great view of the river. It was a hot day, I think the high was 90. There was a breeze so that did help. During the day there were lots of boats flying by!!

Here are the cousins having a picnic (they are having grapes for dessert) outside on the patio!!

One of the twins, Ivy (I think) along with Maggie (in the background) had their suits on and were getting ready to jump in the swimming pool!!!.

The other twin, Eden (I think) was being sprayed down with sun screen by her Mommy, my other granddaughter!! It was a good thing too, since between the sun and the water, it is easy for them to burn. But these children are all brown as berries. So their used to being in the pools.

Here she is just about to jump in!!! Doesn't that look tempting?? The mommies and the grandparents were eventually in there with them!!!

Even water skiers went by...they were waving at all of us who were sitting out watching them perform!! After lunch (which was amazing by the way!!) Who doesn't love brats, and poppers off the grill?? Anyway there was lots of other stuff...too much to mention!!!

After a fun day...we headed to town. This was one of the photos I snapped as we sailed by! I love windmills, even old ones like this with only half it's blades.

Matt wanted to get a picture with all 4 of the Great Grandmothers!! (The grandmothers were in the picture too.) Matt's grandmothers are in the wheel chairs (their both in the nursing home) along with his Mom, holding Maggie Sue. Lacey's grandmothers are myself and Sue (in the pretty green outfit) along with her Mom, standing behind Lorelai!!

It really was a fun, fourth, filled with family!!

Hope your Fourth was wonderful too...

In The Heat of the Day....

I promised you some pictures from down by the river...and what a perfect day to share them..it is very warm here. This first picture is of the Anderson Dance Pavilion...it is beautiful! (And look who helped build it...my Tom!) When we went by Sunday..someone was having a party in it. Yes, from weddings to outside church services... We use to hold our MS Walks there also. It looks like Tom helped build this 21 years ago...and it still looks wonderful!!! (Even survived the flood of 2011!) smile...

Boat flying down the river.........

Meeting up with friends on the river.......

 Another one flying down river..........

They look like their floating down the river....smile..(but I think their actually buzzing down the river...smile..)

You always hear me talking about the "South Bottoms" (where Tom grew up) and this monument is on the river front also!

We spotted this shell of a Model A (?) and I wanted a picture of it. So Tom did a u'y (or should I say a u turn) and drove back and stopped in front of it so I could get this picture...smile....Isn't he just the sweetest? Of course when we do these things we're always sure we are safe and not causing any traffic issues..smile..

Did you have a nice day? I'm sure it's HOT all over the U.S., and only going to get worse...so sad. We need to take a moment and pray for all those who are afflicted by this heat and humidity. And of course those states that have the wildfires. I believe this is the worst I've ever seen... Father, hear our prayers...

"The Many Thoughts of Grace"

April 14, 1940: It was such a nice day 85 degrees. Mrs. Schopp came down about 4:00. We went up to Dairy. Saw Vincent M. Baby had his first ice cream. Mrs. S. gave him a pair of coveralls.

(BTW: Mrs. Schopp is Jack's mother. smile..)
