A New Fly Swatter

Before I get into the story behind the Fly Swatter, I want to share with you some memories of March!!

One very windy and fridgid winter day, my friend/caregiver Krystal, came up stairs and said there was a cat in my window well! It was crying and the snow was starting to cover it! We called animal control, who eventually got out here and took her.

I was so worried about how she faired after being out in the elements, I called and they said she was just fine. She was not chipped and no one had called looking for her, so she was up for adoption! This was the photo on their website. (Isn't she beautiful?) I said I'd like to adopt her, but I couldn't get her for a few days. But that my daughter, Brenda was coming for a visit and she would help me. Brenda flew in and the next day we made the trip to the Animal Shelter to see her and make sure she was what I really wanted.. of course she was. They opened the cage and she came right to me, rubbing up against me while she was purring away! She had my heart right then and there!

At first, she was very skiddish and would hide in the weirdest places. But, eventually she would sit on my lap (this photo was to show my Susan Branch cup with her name on it! Yes, we named her "Winter".) The name the shelter had given her, was not for me...not only could I not pronounce it...I couldn't spell it! LOL

But, Brenda really helped get her all settled in the house! Brenda came for a 10 day visit. I miss her so much, calling, texting and face timing are really nice, but there's nothing like having them here in person!! 😊 The weather was not very cooperative, most of the time we had to stay home by the fireplace.

Of course there were fun moments... Like when her neices came to visit! I love this photo, it told its own story!

Then there was this one...still fun.

We did enjoy ourselves...even when the northwest winds and snow were blowing outside! We watched movies, soaps, and cooked and baked some goodies. There was lots of chit chatter going on. But just like in the blink of an eye, she had to go home. I missed her soooo much and could only wish she could have stayed longer.

The Fly Swatter

Friday the ladies came for Bible Study, and it was a pretty nice day! When they were leaving, there must have been a Fly that got in the house. Apparently "Winter" must have spotted it! My friend Lonna and I watched her as she followed it as it flew into the kitchen and back to the front room. They really like our big window so had flown to it. Well, before I know it Winter had swatted it with her paw and killed it! Lonna laughed as she cleaned it up with a Kleenex! Who knew? I would have a cat who is a live Fly Swatter !!!

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world.....
