This is what my beautiful picture window looked like yesterday morning! Tuesday, I went downstairs and the minute my feet hit the ground they were wet! I looked around thinking...'where is this water coming from?' As I stepped into the other room, it was worse! At that point, I headed back upstairs to change my socks and call a plumber. The first one I called said they didn't have anyone available until the next day.. I knew that wasn't acceptable. The next guy I called came right out and accessed the situation ...discovering that it was my hot water heater. He called someone who came out and replaced it. He also sent one of his guys to shop vac some of the water up. Later on, they advised me that I should call my insurance company. They sent a crew out and they put dehumidifier and fans in.
This is what my kitchen window looked like, which was the morning after all the equipment ran the night before. They had also put my furniture etc. up on blocks to get it off the wet carpet.
Another angle of my big window. I'm not sure when the water heater broke, but sure put a lot of water in the basement. They tore out the carpet yesterday, that helped. The equipment is still running tonight. We'll see what tomorrow brings!
They came and removed the old hot water heater today. They left it so the adjuster could verify that the flooding was due to a broken hot water heater. We are getting snow today..hope it doesn't amount to too much. My son and DIL will be driving home in the morning. And I believe their getting more than we are. Ugggg Wintertime! I have seen, their having lots of late starts in the morning. Of course I cancelled Bible Study for tomorrow! But am praying for better weather next week. I have a lot of appointments then. Even Rusty has to go in and have his yearly shots!! I'm sure he will not be a happy dog! Ha!
Well, I'll keep you posted on how things go with this situation....have you ever have it happen to you??
Bye for now...
