Beauty-Beast-Birds-Best Strawberry Pie

One day I was at the doctors office and spotted this 'yellow' flower! The early morning rain drops were still on it's petals. Oh how I love nature!! Beautiful huh?? 

 

Isn't this funky?? ha! ha! When life gives you a tree stump...why not display your Beast of a Bike for all the world to see on it??? 

Oh, how I love to watch the Birds, especially the Mourning Doves. They are such gentle birds. They come in, in the evening and roost on our tree limbs. They will primp and pamper for hours. And of course they take a nap or two during this time also...

 

I was going through some pictures today and came across this collage of how to make this simple and easy Best Strawberry Pie. Years and years ago, I went to my brothers house and his wife made this....I just fell in love with it!!! So...so...simple and yet so...so...delicious!! And it's perfect for this time of the year. When it's 'hot and humid' and no one wants to run their oven....even for a pie. This way you can have you summertime pie and eat it too!! smile...

 

This was a busy day...my friend came up and cleaned the house. We had lunch together, (Chinese,) and just a good old fashioned visit...which I always love!!

 

We have a potluck tonight, but the heat is too much for me to go out in. Hopefully, it will cool down and I'll be able to attend next month!

Mourning Dove

Here is our mourning dove getting a drink from that rain filled bird bath.ha!  

Don't they have such pretty pink feet?? 

They have sure been coming to our home lately..and we're loving it!!

It was out there tonight again, It, (I keep calling it an 'it'), as I'm not sure if 'it' is a male or a female...

We've had a busy couple days, but the days have been really nice weather wise.. I've had a few blessings along the way. My friend Sherry, was here yesterday to clean. And I told her, be careful in the bedroom, as last week, I had one of my favorite earrings fall on the floor and I couldn't find it..sad.. She got down on the floor, reached under the dresser and viola!!! She pulled it out.. I was so excited!!! I tried to reach under there, but if I'd have got down on the floor, even it I found the ear ring, I'd still be down there...lol  Anyone know that feeling??

I looked outside tonight and my yucca plant is blooming! Will have a picture of it tomorrow!! big smile...

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who were killed last night in Charleston, SC by a deranged gunman. So sad.......

Rainy Overcast Day



 

We had quite an ominous cloudy day! We got around an inch of rain, which really has greened up more things!!

 



 

Our love birds were at it again...joining each other on the patio.

 

I finally got a picture of the oriole having a little grape jelly for breakfast...smile...

 

Aren't these layers of clouds pretty in their own way??

 

Our residential bunny was out in the yard today. Our sedum (see in the background?) is really flourishing this year too. I'll have to get a picture of the yellow flowers with a different angle. Now all you see is the green (with a little yellow flower on the right side..) but from the other side the sedum is beautiful!

 

We're on the countdown for our MS Walk! Two more days, and I pray our weather holds out.
