Rabbit-Rabbit

Yes, friends it's the first of another month and we must always say 'rabbit-rabbit'! smile..

"Rabbit rabbit rabbit" is one variant of a common British superstition which states that a person should say or repeat the word "rabbit" or "rabbits", or "white rabbits", or some combination of these elements, out loud upon waking (or first moment) on the first day of the month, because doing so will ensure good luck for the duration of that month.

We spotted this kitty walking along (we think he had an attitude..smile..)

We parked, and watched him escape from the chain link fence.  How low can you go??

Looked like he was on a mission (and didn't care that we were watching him!)

Do you think he has his eye on the prize?? lol  (maybe a mouse??)

I can't believe that June is over with already. Where did it go?? What did I do?? Good question, which I can't really answer. Are you also surprised how time flies by? Well, we got an extra second about 2 1/2 hours ago. I think that really helped...smile..

Where does time go??

Saturday when we came home from Lorelai's party, we spotted this beautiful sunset...

How has your week been going? Seems like, once again, we've had things that have kept us busy. The days go by so....so fast. Lots of people, of all ages say the same thing. Are we all too busy or are the seconds skipping by...meaning...is time skipping seconds? Instead of 1 second--2 second? Is it 1 second-3 second? ha..ha... (Sounds like a good excuse!)

Monday we 'almost' emptied the front room, since we had the carpet cleaners coming the next day. He said to leave all the heavy stuff, couch, chairs, TV, and tables, he would take care of moving them. I can't believe all the stuff we have on our end tables, but I know its  'necessary stuff''.. lol  Then Tuesday morning bright and early we finished moving the rest of the stuff. I'm so happy...the carpet and the rug look really nice and the house smells so good! smile...

Today again was an early riser..we took SIL to see the doctor. There was some good news. When we were there we saw our old neighbors, then when we were leaving, there was an old co worker. He was waving at me, so I went over and talked to him. He introduced me to his mother, telling her that I worked with him and I was one of the good guys..lol (I really liked him and his work ethics, so I got him a good raise!)

After we left it was raining...sad! I really wanted to go down to the Farmers Market. But, we just came home, I made a meatloaf and 'smashed potatoes! Ever make them?? We baked them, when they were done, we let them cool down a bit, cover them with olive oil--smash them! Then sprinkle with salt, pepper and thyme, then more olive oil on them. Put back in the oven and back about 20 minutes. They were really good, especially with meatloaf. lol  Then my friend called and asked if she could come by and fix my hair. So, now I have pretty hair...smile..

Sounds like we're going to have rain again tomorrow. What kind of weather are you having??

Life Goes By....

I should take heed to these words... Yesterday, we opened the paper and read that my cousins husband had passed away. I called her and we had a nice visit. He had Parkinson's and she had kept him at home till the end. They were a wonderful couple and I was so sorry to hear this news. I called my brother to let him know. He was driving, so later on in the evening he called me and we visited for about an hour. We also had company yesterday, my brother and sister in law stopped up. He was going out to the drivers license bureau to have his glasses restriction taken off. (As he had cataract surgery--and the doctor said he didn't need them to drive).  They are such sweet people, we see them each time we go down and get Tom's hearing aides fixed or adjusted by their next door neighbor! smile...

I spotted this the other day...love clothes blowing in the wind! In some ways, I miss the days of having and using a clothes line. They are so fresh smelling...ahhh I don't think, as much as the dryer sheet companies try, they can replicate that smell...smile... Do any of you still have or use a clothes line??

Today Rusty went in to be groomed, he is so handsome tonight!! And tired out after his play date! smile.. Yesterday Tom froze some of the tomatoes from his garden. They will taste so good this winter when we make chili or vegetable soup (and more..smile..) nothing better then your own home grown tomatoes!!

Hope you're all having a good week...........

more as it happens here in the city........
