More Sites and a Beautiful Soul...

I spotted this little guy, just sitting there watching me, with my camera hanging out the car window, as we were driving through the Burger King!! smile.... He probably was thinking where's mine??...lol

I've always loved this old barn...with the partial windmill. Don't you love how green our yards are? Just because of our cool, damp spring. We're suppose to get rain tonight and tomorrow. These are all good things, but am hoping by this weekend the weather will be nice, as we're having our South Bottoms Reunion!!!

We saw this the other night...cute little girls, but very dangerous I'm afraid. We both said we wouldn't do that. Seems it was different back in the day, when we lived in a small town or drove on country roads. (That was even very dangerous back in the day!) Actually, I think it's illegal now.

The other day we were cleaning out our garage, we took a few things to the Gospel Mission, and turned in several pop cans at the recycle center! Once again, I thought if we see someone going in we'd give them the bags of bottles. But when we pulled in, there were a couple vehicles outside but no one in site. And then...out walked this young man. I asked him if he wanted some pop bottles?? He said 'sure'.. Tom went to get them out and he said, 'here I'll get them'. By the time we were backing out, he came out with a $5 and a $1 dollar bill. He ran over to the van and offered the $5 to us, saying he could get a pop with $1. Of course we said 'no...you keep it!!'  But what a wonderful young man, so courteous and thoughtful. Nice to meet someone like him... Do you have encounters like that??

I went to my MS doctor today, for my 6 months check up. All is well and she is happy with how I'm doing. So that is good and I had another good result from our GP. Did you know, instead  of having a colonoscopy every so many years, you can do a one year test at home and mail it in? So praise God mine had good results. smile...

Chicken! Chicken!

Each year when we go to the cemetery, we stop into this bar that is famous for their broasted chicken. (Note the chicken..already for Memorial Day...smile..) They also have gambling machines. I love to drop a little in them. My SIL egged me on with, "you are so lucky you should try your luck." So, I had 3 one dollar bills and put them in. Won...Lost...Won..Lost...Won! (then I heard, chickens here...) okay time to cash out! I won $3.75! That meant, I won, .75 cents...lol

Tom's Aunt Pearl, her husband and brother were good friends with the original owner. He had several senior photos hanging in there from this town. We found this one, which contains Pearls photo!

A little closer photo!

When we were leaving, I spotted this sign...I thought sometime I'd love to drive those 6 miles and see this church....It must be a little country church. (This gets on my to do list!!)

Another shot...that poor old yellow building, I understand, is full of old antiques. That too would be fun to check out...lol (If it truly is full of antiques..)

Just a parting shot, as we left to head to the cemetery....

Today was another 'busy' one...  Plus my son stopped by and I talked to my daughter for an hour and a half. smile... So, it was a good day!!! How about you? What kind of a day did you have??

Mother's Days visitors....

Mothers Day Roses..from my sweet son Randy! Aren't they beautiful?? And who knew I loved roses?? smile... They are adorning our table and making me "oh so happy!"
Lorelai wasn't too happy with us when she first came in... So, since I know how she loves books...I brought one out that I had got for her.. Her Grandma Vicky was reading it to her and she loved that!
Isn't she just the sweetest? She loves her 'blinkie'...
However, here she is with a big smile...playing with her Grandpa Randy...
And finally...she was slowly approaching her Great Grandpa...while she is checking with her Grandma Vicky if it's okay...smile....
Here we are playing 'hide and seek' with her skirt...she did like that. But she was wondering why her Mom had the camera...smile...
And finally she had had enough of the picture taking...smile... Sweetness..that is all I can say!!!

My day ended with a call from my daughter Brenda in Georgia. We had a wonderful visit!! I am one lucky Mother....
"The blessing of the Lord be upon you." Psalm 129.8

Hope you all had a wonderful..loving day......

"The Many Thoughts of Grace"

June 28, 1937: It came up a storm today. We canned beans, peas and carrots. I went down to Margaret's this afternoon. She rode half way home with me. Talked to "Tiny"  Lost piece of my bike so had to go back to Hildrebrands.
