We had to take the van in to be serviced this morning. We gave ourselves plenty of time to get there. However, I always fear the inevitable...traffic jams, red lights, construction....etc.. to make a person late!! The one thing I forgot about was the train!! Yep, there was a train!!! However, it was almost finished going by, when we got there (2 blocks away..) which meant, we had to slowly get through the next light...since there were so many cars ahead of us...!! THEN we got on the interstate and this is what we saw...slow traffic due to the construction! But, we got there on time!
They gave us a van to drive while they worked on ours. So eventually we headed out to lunch. Since our son and his wife gave us a gift certificate to Applebee's for Christmas so that's where we went. The meal started off with a house salad, which by the way was very good! Tom got the riblets and I had the chicken pasta. Oh yes and we had some raspberry ice tea. Well...knowing us...the first thing, I spilled a little of the tea on my 'white' pants...eeks!! So....I reached into my 'big' purse that always has lots of stuff in it for one of those wipes...and viola the stain was gone. Soon after, Tom dropped some barbeque sauce on his shirt!! Well, it worked for him too!!! Does this ever happen to you?? Well, Shout it Out really worked for me!!
Our skies looked really bad as the afternoon went on. I had a doctors appointment and was glad when we headed home. Luckily we made it in time, as the skies opened up and dumped lots of rain... We were so fortunate that was all we had. Not far away they had baseball size hail and up to 100 mph winds..sad...
Later on, the rain quit and the car shop called and said the van was done, and there was about an hour window between rain systems. We headed out and thank goodness made it in time and really felt good to have our van home, safe and sound in the garage! The next system wasn't as bad as the first. But we're having more rain, thunder and lightning! So, it's time to head to bed!!
Good night and stay safe!
