Good Bye June~Hello July

Yesterday when I left the doctors office, their beautiful 'yellow' flowers caught my eye!! So, I stopped and took a picture. There was still rain drops on their petals.. It was so hard to see what I was actually photographing... That's one of the things I'm not crazy about, with the camera screens..

After a rainy night, the next morning the droplets started falling off of the leaves when a light breeze started blowing. As the sun glisten on these drops, it looked like it was raining again...

This was me trying to take a selfie of Granddaughter Lacey and myself.. (I need more practice...lol) Anyway, Lacey came into town to attend a MS Seminar with me. It was very interesting and a nice day!

This was some of the food that was served...you know me, I love to photograph food...smile.. I had the salmon and risotto, which was amazing. (That was the first time I've ever had risotto...Tom and I always talked about it and said how we'd love to try it! So, it was kind of bittersweet.)

Good news, my sister in law got home from the hospital this week. She seems to be doing okay, I know she very happy to be home!! As was am!

Hope this finds all of you doing well and looking forward to a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Newsletter-Doctor_Red Robin

Sorry I have been among the missing for the last few days, but I have had my nose to the grindstone working on the newsletter. I finally got a rough draft finished and dropped it off to my official proof reader...smile... I've got a few other things to add and hopefully get it off to the printers by this weekend!

Actually, Saturday we made this scrumptious meal! Tom put the roast in the pressure cooker, while I was prepping the potatoes and carrots, which we added later. Also, made creamed cucumbers. It was a delicious meal, but I thought the roast was a little tough. So, we ground  up the beef, with onions and pickles. Now that made a great sandwich!!

Tom went in for his monthly check up today. The weather was so nice, which I'd love to live in all year long. smile... We went shopping for bird food! We hadn't been out to this store for some time, but it worked out great. Our birds are going to be very happy tomorrow!!! We drove across the street and were going to eat at this restaurant but it didn't have any handicap parking spots. So we headed off to another one. Tom spotted this Oldsmobile in their parking lot, isn't it beautiful?? Love old cars, especially when they're in this good a shape! Memories.......

We ended up eating at Red Robin. Funny, we've only been there a couple times and I forgot what we had, so I texted my daughter and asked her what she usually has. So, upon her advise Tom had the "Burnin Love Burger" (it literally is jalapeno hot!!) and I had a "Chicken Whiskey River wrap". Course, you know me, I brought most of my lettuce salad and half of my wrap home!!

Blessings and good night.

Here and There

I have enjoyed this ladies yard for years! As we were going by the other day, I said to Tom pull over so I can take some pictures of her yard. Tom said, there is a lady sitting there. I looked up from my camera and sure enough there she was out there enjoying her garden! I rolled down the window and told her I loved her yard! smile..

Here is someone else's yard that I thought had lots of pretty flowers in it..

And another one...don't you just love the Black eyed  Susan's and Coneflowers?

Do you ever do this? Drive around and enjoy other's flowers and see how they decorate their yards and gardens?

Hope you're having a good week. We were busy today, doctors, got gas, got the van washed, and got some groceries. So, tonight I'm sore and tired! Good night...........

We're on the Mend

When we went to the doctors the other day, I noticed (right away) that their planters were filled with pretty flowers!! Then inside to see the doctor, not only for me but also for Tom. We both got some kind of  'crud'... Tom started to cough Thursday, and I knew we must see the doctor. So glad we did, he put us on antibiotics.

As we were waiting for the prescriptions to be called in and filled, we went to the Dairy Queen for a malt. I thought that would be soothing for our throats (ahem)! Oh yes, and it was wonderful!! (for our throats of course!!)

I'm not sure if you can see this or not, but this little finch sat up there on that branch for a long time...I figured it was staying there so I could get some good pictures!!! LOL But once I had downloaded it, I noticed his eyes were closed.

Then....I saw he was wide awake!!! Notice the difference in the skies?? One was overcast (sleepy weather--then blue skies...time to wake up...lol)

What do you think?? Is this an old Robin?? Look at it's spotted belly!

I'm glad we are feeling so much better then we were Friday...and look forward to a new week! What is on your agenda for this week??

The Phantom Stove & Good News

I have to share this with you... Remember I told you about our stove and how Sears cancelled the order? And what a time, with long phone calls trying to get our money credited to our credit card... Very much a nightmare that no one should have to go through! Well, the other night, I get a call from Sears...I thought "yeah" their finally going to tell me they had credited our credit card. Instead........get this, they wanted to sell us a warranty on the new stove we bought. I started to laugh, and said "I didn't know you sold insurance on phantom stoves!!" lol Then I proceeded to tell him how Sears had cancelled our order and we were impatiently waiting for a refund on our credit card. He said, "I'm sorry to hear that--good bye!" And he hung up!!! Geez.........

I called the next day and after being on the phone for 45 minutes I was told they had given us credit! I had looked at the statement on line incorrectly, as it had a plus sign in front of it. (I'm ashamed to say I was an accountant. lol)

Today we stopped at the appliance store today (the ones who repaired our old stove) and purchased a new one! They even gave us credit for the repair they did! Come to find out, after all was said and done, they ended up being cheaper and more efficient than Sears was. They will deliver it Monday (unlike Sears they even know how to hook up the gas...lol)

We went to see Tom's heart doctor today and they were pleased with the way the medicine was working..smile... What a wonderful way to start our day!!!  And then when we went to check on the stove, we got the last one they had in the warehouse. So, it was a good day.

Our weather was dangerously cold today. It started with below zero temperatures and didn't warm up much. Tonight they say we may break a record with temperatures of about 7 or 8 below. Brrrrrr...

Update

It was so cold today that....... (I know that is just a saying, but...) it really was cold, this poor Nuthatch was huddled down beside a tire on the patio.

Look at our poor little squirrel, he was standing way down in the yard looking all bundle up!

We had four Northern Flickers in our yard at one time. These two were in the tree...

While one was down on the shed...

And another one was in the lilac tree.

Then they hit the suet feeders....one at a time.

Today, we went to the doctor on Tom's wrist. He has tendonitis, so he got a shot and a brace. Hopefully, this will get the pain under control.

Tomorrow, Tom's heart doctor rescheduled his appointment until next week. So, will keep you updated on that appointment too. Appreciate your continued prayers for good results. (Thank you...)

Yes, it is cold here, but nothing compared to other parts of the country. My prayers are with everyone on the east coast. Especially Boston. (I can't imagine...)

Did You Have A Stormy Valentines Day or a Sunny One??

I know that was a terrible title to this post...lol I just wanted to share these photos. I know of course everyone had a lovely Valentines day, whether you ate out, got flowers or just spent time with your favorite love. Or maybe just enjoyed your Saturday...smile.... My granddaughter asked if we were going to do something exciting. I said, 'do you call our tax man coming to the house' exciting?? ha...ha...

I love playing with photos in PicMonkey. This was the original photo...wispy clouds..

This was one of the 'cold' days, as we crossed the river. It was a blustery one, winds (see the flag?) and of course the ice was floating down the river...

We saw this little squirrel climbing around the suet feeder. They are such acrobats I can hardly believe how they get around and eat upside down...smile...

Another one of our sitings when we were out and about... the turkeys just walk across the street and expect the cars to stop for them..smile..

And we spotted this boy practicing his soccer game! (I was surprised when I saw, I caught the ball in mid air!!)

Yep, one day freezing, next day so nice you can be outside without a coat. Our roller coaster weather.

This week again will be busy.. appointments for all of us. I have to have a mammogram tomorrow. That should be fun...lol NOT... Each day I will let you know how it goes..smile.. Keep Tom in your prayers for good news on his heart and he also has to see an Ortho surgeon on his wrist. (See I told you we will be busy all week....)

Due to the weather and my hip hurting we weren't able to go the twins birthday party today. I'm sad, as I would have loved to have seen them. They are so adorable and growing like crazy..

Blessings to your week.

Busy Cold Day

We headed off this cold morning to see Tom's heart doctor! (Remember he had to wear the heart monitor??) He added another medicine for him and wants him to wear another heart monitor in 3 months!

Afterwards we went out to a drive in for a loose meat for lunch. Tom has missed going there. So, that's what we did...lol (Made his day!) Oh, yes and he also got some of their famous onion chips. (I didn't have any of them, as they are way too greasy...lol)

We stopped and bought some suet............our birds (and squirrels) have eaten everything we had!! So we'll see how happy they are tomorrow!

We had other appointments and by the time we got home I was 'tired'............ Tom then had to take Karen to an appointment she had. Poor guy, he had a busy one and I think ready for bed.

Tomorrow will be another busy one...  Guess that is good. The weekend is to be warmer, then back to the deep freeze! The Farmers Almanac  said it was suppose to be bitter cold here this winter and I guess they were right, at last its started out that way. (But thank God we're not having the snow that Buffalo is having...my prayers are with them.)

Busy-Crazy-This and That

I think I'll begin with today..smile We started the day off very early, as Tom had an early doctors appointment. Remember the monitor he had to wear last week?? He got the results today. sad.. The doctor changed his medicine and will see him back in 6 weeks to see if that helps. Pray...Pray..Pray that it does and he won't have to have surgery.

Then we did a little shopping, one place we went was Christopher and Banks. I had a couple gift certificates I needed to use..smile... I wanted to get a pair of 'classic fit' jeans. (Last time I got a pair, they were low riders...lol So, I gave them to my granddaughter.) Anyway, I wasn't sure on the size (and its too difficult to try them on at the store) so I bought two sizes of the jeans. Guess what, they were both too big. Now this is a good thing (of course what lady doesn't love being able to get into a smaller size??lol) but we'll have to take them back and try a smaller size. Anyway, we did some more running so I was tired by the time we got home. We had another MS Seminar to go tonight but we decided not to go.

YESTERDAY, I woke up with a terrible 'stiff neck'...I must have slept wrong. It was really bad. However, we had so much to do, I sucked it up and we headed out! First stop was getting those snow tires put on...smile.. But first we stopped at Mc Donalds and got a sandwich, which we ate while the tires were being put on. (I think the rest of the customers were jealous! smile..) Tom got his drivers license renewed...gosh you really have to jump through a lot of hoops anymore. Use to be you'd just go in, take an eye test give them your money...have you photo taken and out the door you'd go! He had to have his social security card, certified copy of birth certificate, two items, like a piece of mail, and or a copy of the insurance with his name and address on it! I understand the theory behind all this...out  world as we knew is changing.

Wednesday, I told you I was excited about this...smile.. Each year we have a dinner for our group (instead of a potluck like we normally do each month). This little restaurant has the BEST homemade food! Look at all those salads...I think there were 8 of them!! The bottom photo shows, the turkey, ham, dressing, mash potatoes, gravy, green beans and home made rolls! AMAZING! And just seeing and visiting with all our friends was equally as much fun!

How was your week?? Are you all ready for the weekend??

Busy Days

Yesterday was so busy, the doctors office in the morning and the dentist in the afternoon...along with some shopping along the way. These flowers were outside the dentist office. One on each side of the doorway. They are gorgeous!!!

Funny...we were sitting in the shade eating our Burger and I spotted this pine tree. I took a closer look at the top of it....I had no idea that the pine cones come out at the very top of the tree. There weren't any except up there.

Now look at our old rooster planter. A volunteer phlox decided to bloom, just for me! smile...

Today, was again a very busy one! Weatherwise, it was a very warm and muggy day! Tonight I'm tired and hopefully tomorrow I will be full of ambition...and wit...smile.. After reading Susan Branch's blog..I know I must do a to-do list and finish it. How about you, do you do a to-do list to help you remember everything you need to finish??
