On to November

The first part of the month, I got a new perm and new glasses. Boy are the glasses different. They’re so light I’m amazed. So...I or should I say we picked these out. Randy had taken me and he liked them on me🤓 I hadn’t changed rims for years. I still have my old ones, as he just had to tweak the prescription..well when she adjusted them for me, I had her make them tight. She said well you don’t want them too tight, they’ll hurt your ears. Of course I insisted. Within two days they were killing my ears☹️ So, back we went...and they are so much better! (I bet she knew I’d be back...lol)

Then there was the Presidential Election on November 3rd, between President Trump and Vice President Biden. It took a week for all the votes to be counted and a winner to be announced. VP Joe Biden was the winner.

We got 3” of snow on the 10th, that slowed down a lot of people.  Schools were out etc. when I look at this picture I wonder what animal tracks those are😊 Looking for food, I’m sure.

This little one was eating the droppings from the bird feeder. I think he's cute, but can be so mischievous! Anyone who has them in their yard knows this. 😊

I spotted this hawk on an electrical pole in my yard.  They are beautiful, but within a few minutes he had something he had caught and was eating it.

Even the cardinals were at the feeder. They really like this block seed. Do any of you use this bird feeder?  We got our first one many years ago. They were advertising it on TV.  So Tom ordered it and made the stand for it.  We waited and waited, as no birds showed up.  He was so frustrated, he was going to return it!! But then....one day they started coming...and the rest is history, as they say!!

Thanksgiving came, and there was no getting together like years before.  I stayed home, (my choice).  My granddaughter Lacey and her family stopped by for a visit and that was so nice. These little ones are growing way too fast.  My neighbor girl sent up a plate of wonderful food for dinner. So I did have turkey for Thanksgiving..smile... My granddaughter Ashley called that night and we talked for 3 hours😁

Here us 'Little Ms. Winter', basking in the fall sun!!

Bye for now...more to come!!

Weekend

I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was just lovely. My granddaughter Lacey and great granddaughter Maggie came to visit Saturday. What fun that was!!! They had been school shopping and Maggie had to show off her new unicorn sweatshirt. Isn’t it adorable?? We had lunch, then Maggie had a friend ask is she could come over to play. So they headed back home.

My friend Mary called Sunday and we decided to go out for coffee. This little coffee shop had quite a menu. Mary had a roast going for supper, so she decided to have donuts with her coffee and I had a chicken wrap with mine. This is the inside .... the tables had coffee cup table clothes on them with a glass top. I told the owner I knew her sister who had the quilt shop in town. (That was probably where they came from.) Then I asked about her Mom. She said she had passed awhile back. I was sorry to hear that, I explained I knew her from the Red Hat’s. She was a nice lady. I still have a wooden doll she had painted for me. It is in my office😊

Of course here she is... playing ‘peek a boo’ with me !! Ha Ha She is now ready for bed...hope you have a blessed day tomorrow!!!

Continuation of “Days Gone By”

Remember the post showing my granddaughters tree that they donated to the town? Well, here it is sitting in the middle of downtown, in all its glory! Lit up like a Christmas tree should be.

Next several pictures will be of the family on a typical *snow* day!!

Today was a great day to bake cookies. Here is Lorelai doing just that. Her and her sister Maggie, really enjoyed it.

Then they went outside to have fun in the snow!!! They are getting much more snow then us. And they will continue to get it through the night and into tomorrow.

Here is their daddy snowblowering the driveway. On the iPhone I was able to hold it down and the picture goes live for a few seconds. On this one Maggie was throwing a snow ball at her daddy!!! Ha! I thought it was hilarious !!!

Here is Maggie😁

And Lorelai 😃

This was out my window this morning. At 6 o’clock we had only got around 2”. (which was fine with me)

I need prayers and or good thoughts for Rusty! Last week he was diagnosed with diabetes☹️ He refused to eat as the week went by, so took him to the Vet Friday. They are keeping him over the weekend. His levels were at 600! So they gave him insulin and it did go down to 400. But she needs it to go to at least 200 or lower. But at least he is eating now. It had gone down some again today. I’m so glad he is there and being monitored. But I miss him terribly. The house is so quiet.

I appreciate your prayers and good thoughts.

Goodnight from the snowy Midwest.

Bye for now....

Days Gone By

Look at my granddaughter Lacey along with her daughters Lorelai and Maggie. Don’t you just love their hats? The girls Meme made them. My daughter in love, Vicky is so gifted. At first when I saw them I thought they were store bought, then was so surprised to find out Vicky had made them !!!!

Monday Lorelai’s school had a Veterans Day program and her Meme (Vicky) went to it again this year!! Everyone is so proud of Vicky and honored to have her in our family.

And of course Lorelai had to give her Papa a big ((hug)) for being there and bringing Meme-lol

They were home this weekend, so I had a long “Mommy do’s” list for Randy. We did watch a little football in between his other commitments. Sorry to say both teams lost. ☹️🏈

Lacey sent me this picture this morning. They are donating their pine tree to the town. It’s a big deal. Every year the town puts up a tree in the center of the town. They had been on a waiting list for several
years.  I think they have a parade and a tree lighting ceremony! I will share more pictures after they light the tree !!!

I believe this is a sparrow! Even though he’s just a sparrow-he has pretty markings on him. 😊

How is your weather?? Ours is promising. It is to warm up tomorrow to a big high of  45 degrees. I hope yours is better where you live.

Bye for now...

Christmas and New Years

Christmas morning, my granddaughter and my two greats, came to visit. They had a busy day ahead of them. First Santa came to their house, then to mine, then to their Papa and Mimi's house and off to another Grandmother's house.. and then the day continued. I'm sure they were all tired out when they got home that evening.. smile..

Lorelai thought the suckers were a great treat!! smile.. Especially after running into the house during a downpour. Yes, rain on Christmas in Iowa!! Who knew??? I had never seen that before in my life. It has probably happened, I just don't remember it.

She had to show me her t-shirt she got from Santa...it says BE YOUR BEST!! That's not hard for her as she is always at her best!! She said to me, "I miss Papa Tom", I said, "I know, I do too..." Pure sweetness...

Then there is Maggie!! She loved the suckers too.. Isn't she just adorable???

She made a new friend and learnt a new word RUSTY!! He was so good with her. She discovered, if you tell him to sit up and patty cake, he will perform for a training ball...all day long..ha.ha..

But, after way too many treats, I told her he had had enough...But, as her Mommy told me...no body can say 'no' to Maggie.. (she is just so darn cute!)...

So, here she is getting more treats after I said no...lol!! Mom was right, I couldn't say no...

I hope your Christmas and New Year was a good one.. Sounds like we're in for a little weather here tonight. And the week ahead is to be somewhat chilly!!! Some of our lows are to be below zero...uggg But if memory serves me right...that is the normal for this time of year in Iowa!!

What kind of weather are you having?? Have you made any New Years resolutions? The only one I'm going to try and do is to blog 'at least' once a week and more if possible..

Blessings and good night...

Good Bye June~Hello July

Yesterday when I left the doctors office, their beautiful 'yellow' flowers caught my eye!! So, I stopped and took a picture. There was still rain drops on their petals.. It was so hard to see what I was actually photographing... That's one of the things I'm not crazy about, with the camera screens..

After a rainy night, the next morning the droplets started falling off of the leaves when a light breeze started blowing. As the sun glisten on these drops, it looked like it was raining again...

This was me trying to take a selfie of Granddaughter Lacey and myself.. (I need more practice...lol) Anyway, Lacey came into town to attend a MS Seminar with me. It was very interesting and a nice day!

This was some of the food that was served...you know me, I love to photograph food...smile.. I had the salmon and risotto, which was amazing. (That was the first time I've ever had risotto...Tom and I always talked about it and said how we'd love to try it! So, it was kind of bittersweet.)

Good news, my sister in law got home from the hospital this week. She seems to be doing okay, I know she very happy to be home!! As was am!

Hope this finds all of you doing well and looking forward to a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Lorelai's First Dance Recital

Look at our sweet little Lorelai after her first dance recital last Friday! She is one proud and happy little girl!!

Here she is practicing before the recital. (They did not allow cameras or any picture taking during the performance!)

Look at this isn't she just adorable?? Her pretty hair and loving all those flowers!!

And sharing the day with her cousins, Ivy an Eden!!

And here she is with her proud Mommy!!!

And proud Meme!!

These two photos speak for themselves...smile... If little Maggie wasn't going to look at the camera, Lorelai was there to help hold her head up.....smile.........  I said, there are times when I could use Lorelai to hold my tired head up!!!!!!!!!!!! ha...ha!!

I have a busy day ahead, but just wanted to share these pictures with you. (By the way, I could have went to the recital, but had some other things going on that day, and was afraid I would be too tired out . sad...) The joys of living with MS...

Blessings to your day!!!!!!!!!

A Visit from my Granddaughter - Part 1

Here she is...so precious!! She arrived on Wednesday and stayed till Sunday!! We had such a good time as you will hear about in this and my next post! We laughed, we cried and had so much fun!!

Thursday we did lunch with Lacey, Lorelai and little Maggie Sue. That was so much fun, to see them and have a nice lunch. We went to Panera Bread on the other side of town. The one over here closed a few weeks ago. I was so bummed.. This one was so cramped and hardly any parking. BUT, the food and company were irreplaceable.

Maggie didn't get any food, but had a good time chewing on here teething ring!!

See those storm clouds a brewing?? We had a couple more errands to run so were glad to get home before the rain.

Ashley hurried in to pick up our MS Walk t shirts! They turned out really good, which you'll see in my next post. I had her running all kinds of errands.. I'd pull up and she'd do the running!!

We took Rusty to the groomer, he's pretty big, so Ashley had to pick him up and put him in and out of the van. He rides really well though. He needed pills at the vet too, so I had called and ordered them and Ashley went in there also and got them. Then to WalMart for some yarn. She was busy making her husband an afghan and needed more yarn.

See how cute Rusty looks??

Here is some of her work. It is going to be gorgeous when she's done!!!

Tonight we're having lighting and thunder. I hope it moves through and will be okay tomorrow. I have to go to the dentist...uggg. And I don't have my Ashley to go with me..smile... Yes, I really miss her.

Good night and stay safe with these spring storms that are going on across the country.
