On to November

The first part of the month, I got a new perm and new glasses. Boy are the glasses different. They’re so light I’m amazed. So...I or should I say we picked these out. Randy had taken me and he liked them on me🤓 I hadn’t changed rims for years. I still have my old ones, as he just had to tweak the prescription..well when she adjusted them for me, I had her make them tight. She said well you don’t want them too tight, they’ll hurt your ears. Of course I insisted. Within two days they were killing my ears☹️ So, back we went...and they are so much better! (I bet she knew I’d be back...lol)

Then there was the Presidential Election on November 3rd, between President Trump and Vice President Biden. It took a week for all the votes to be counted and a winner to be announced. VP Joe Biden was the winner.

We got 3” of snow on the 10th, that slowed down a lot of people.  Schools were out etc. when I look at this picture I wonder what animal tracks those are😊 Looking for food, I’m sure.

This little one was eating the droppings from the bird feeder. I think he's cute, but can be so mischievous! Anyone who has them in their yard knows this. 😊

I spotted this hawk on an electrical pole in my yard.  They are beautiful, but within a few minutes he had something he had caught and was eating it.

Even the cardinals were at the feeder. They really like this block seed. Do any of you use this bird feeder?  We got our first one many years ago. They were advertising it on TV.  So Tom ordered it and made the stand for it.  We waited and waited, as no birds showed up.  He was so frustrated, he was going to return it!! But then....one day they started coming...and the rest is history, as they say!!

Thanksgiving came, and there was no getting together like years before.  I stayed home, (my choice).  My granddaughter Lacey and her family stopped by for a visit and that was so nice. These little ones are growing way too fast.  My neighbor girl sent up a plate of wonderful food for dinner. So I did have turkey for Thanksgiving..smile... My granddaughter Ashley called that night and we talked for 3 hours😁

Here us 'Little Ms. Winter', basking in the fall sun!!

Bye for now...more to come!!

Funny Story...

I have a funny story to tell you. My brother called me the other night and I was asking him about his cats on the farm. He has a house cat (in the picture above) and an outside cat. The house cat is like a dog, it follows him everywhere. When he's outside working on his trucks or whatever he's doing. The outside cat however, only comes in or around him when it's hungry. She just had three baby kittens; they are white, black, and light gray. It sounds like they are so pretty. (I love cats, by the way!) She made a nest under the porch, which has lattice around it, she must've crawled through it. Anyway, (she is so smart), when they come home and walk across the porch, to go in the house, she hears them. She then goes to the door and knocks (or scratches)! She knows it's time to eat. He said she doesn't stay very long, but just loves Arby's roast beef sandwiches! (Can you imagine?) She don't eat the bun but  loves the meat, so he heats it up in the microwave. And then back outside she goes Ha Ha Ha. Yes that's life on the farm.

Today was so busy...my friend came up and did some work around the house. smile... My other friend came and gave me a much needed perm! I feel so pretty.. ha...ha... I think just getting your hair cut and fixed is such a great feeling!!

Hope you're having a good week and have missed all those storms!

Yesterday......

Yesterday...we headed out to go and get a perm! As we were leaving the city, the sun was trying to break through the clouds and fog cover!

However as we got closer to the river you could start to fog cover moving in.

As we sped down the highway we could see more and more fog.

As you can see the fog just got worse and worse...to the point of not being able to see the vehicles ahead of us or coming toward us! And it was so surprising how many cars didn't have their lights on... eeks... I told Tom I think that was the longest 7 miles we've ever driven!! smile... I know I was doing a lot of praying to keep us safe.

If you've followed my blog for awhile you've seen this little 'red' barn/building...oh so bright and pretty...but yesterday you could barely make it out!!

But finally we crossed the bridge and off to our friends home... "whew!" (Thank you Jesus)

And into her yard we go...

Afterwards, we stopped up town at the little cafe for lunch. She had Hot Beef as one of her specials...of course we couldn't say no to that! smile... Normally, when we go to a cafe they don't make the gravy from scratch...so I (of course) asked her if there was MSG in the gravy?? She said, I make it with corn starch...I said Oh you don't use a mix?? She gave me a look..like "yuck"... no way... I make my own...smile... So we said we'll each have one!!! smile... (By the way...it was delish!!!)

Our trip home was much better... we could even see the cows grazing in the pasture! smile...

Then of course when we got home we got to see our sweet little Great Grandbabies!! Speaking of babies...over at the Prairie Flower Farm blog...she is having baby chicks hatching...it is so sweet to watch them peck through the eggs! Also, she is making cards from her photos she takes around the farm and is selling them.

Hope you had a blessed day!

"Home is where the snowflakes fall"....

Isn't this just adorable? Don't you just love 'winter' and all it's creative items?? Especially *snowmen*...they are my favorite...as you can leave them out all winter....smile..

It was my perm day...so it was 'over the river' (not really...) and off to our friends to get all prettied up!! smile... These are some sites I saw when we were at her house. Don't you just love that suitcase? And her greens on her front porch?? She is such an amazing lady and so gifted, her home is always so beautifully decorated!! (I always just want to move in...ha..ha...)

After she finished with my hair, we headed up town to have lunch. Tom got a pork tenderloin ..look at it..can you believe the size of that sandwich?? smile... This cafe is so quint and homey!!

On the way home, I spotted these horses grazing. Pretty picture, huh?? When we went by the barber shop, I said to Tom, you really need a haircut, why not stop? Finally he agreed and we went back...smile.. (I know he's glad now we did...smile...)

I know this is hard to see, but there were a few ducks floating along in this small lake.. It was such a nice day... While I was waiting for Tom to get his hair cut, I was talking to my daughter Brenda in Georgia. She was telling me how nice it was down there...in the 70's... about that time Tom came out, when he started the car, I said, what's the temperature? He said 66! (Course I really don't think it was quite that warm...but close...) However...........later on this week it is to get colder and am sure it will feel much more like December...

Hope you're having a good week....

Sizzler...

We headed out 'early' this morning...again... smile... But this was across the river and to head out to get a perm! Yeah! Doesn't the river look better and more in control this year verses last year? But look at all that sand on the banks, brought up from the bottom of the river last year. What a difference a year makes! smile.. But it does leave it's effects..

We made it to our friends house a few minutes late...but anxious to get this hair fixed, cut and curled! smile.. Her yard and porch are always so welcoming...and soon it will have a new look...I can't wait to see it when that happens....I promise to take pictures and share them with you! smile...

When we drove into town it was 9:33 (I told you I was a few minutes late...smile) it was 90 degrees already!  Then as we were leaving after I got my perm and we had had lunch it was 12:50 and 95 degrees!! The day continued to heat up and was 96 with heat indexes of 103!!! I'm sure this will be a record HOT summer..

We did stop at a local restaurant for lunch....don't you just love these kind of places to eat?? I had a cheeseburger and fries... Look at all those fries... wow...no one could eat that many!! Tom got a chicken fried steak and fries... We learnt...we should have gotten one item and split it... But who knew??? Guess we should have, as we come down here with our South Bottomer's in the fall and she makes us a "Thanksgiving Buffet" each year... now you talk about wonderful, plentiful food... she is an amazing woman!!

Anyway, as we were leaving town with a new hair do and our bellies full, I spotted this KC-135 heading towards the airport, going in for a landing! Since I worked at the airport for almost 30 years...airplanes still impress me...smile....

Last night when I was about to put this blog up, our internet went down! So I had to retype it all this morning:...sad... But I found out it was out all over town, so wasn't just our service! Whew...you never know with these marvelous computers...and just hope and pray you don't need to call an IT man! smile..

Hope you are having a blessed...cool...day....smile...

May Day Flowers...

I know, I know...yesterday was May Day! Did you do something special? Like give your neighbor or best friend a May basket? We did...When we went down to our friends to get a perm...we took her a May Basket! smile..

Actually, we made it out of a plastic cup, with a glitter  pipe cleaner for a handle, we filled it popcorn, candy and a package of tea! I thought this would be fun! I remember the days! These beautiful flowers are what greeted us as we arrived at her home..

She's had these pansies for sometime, don't they look good?? Course I love those sweet little faces on each pansie!!

And aren't her irises pretty?? Ours aren't even blooming yet. She also had winter onions that she offered to share with us, Tom pulled a few. They are really tasty.

Not sure what kind of tree...or bush this is, but we spotted it on our way home! Pretty..huh? Anyone know what this is??

Today was a busy one for me as I worked at my computer, but by this afternoon, my back told me I wasn't use to sitting there that long and had to finally come in the front room and rest! smile...

I hope you are having a blessed week..........

Nice Day......

It was a cold day today..I think our high was 31..these are power plants putting off the steam in the air! Tom helped to build all three of them (he was an Ironworker). Anyway, we left early this morning and headed out to get a perm. It feels so good to have my hair fixed smile...., and to have visited with our friends. Later we ate out and I saw an old friend. That made my day...smile...  By the time we got home..I was and still am tired... I'm making this a short one..

I hope you are having a blessed weekend and are doing something fun!
