Good Sunday Evening

Where have I been? What have I been doing?? Well, as you all know, I left back in August promising you pictures of my son Randy, playing at the Iowa State Fair! He did play there, but there weren't any photos taken... uggg But, here he is playing acoustic guitar in front of the capital building in Des Moines.

 

I caught this photo of Randy and his wife, Vicky...loading their vehicle as they were heading out to a different gig!! The life of a musician..ha!

One of the most exciting days I had was when my friend/caregiver Krystal, asked her brother in law if he could weld my bird feeder back together!! And he did!!! Tom had built this feeder years ago, and last winter when it was froze to the ground and when it got pulled on, it broke off the plate in the tire.

 

And there she stands so proud!!! Especially this winter, it will work really good, it will keep the food off the ground. ~smile~

 

I will write more later, but a few of the things that have been going on. I had cataract surgery, and will have the other one done Tuesday. I was in the hospital for 3 days with stomach issues, which I hope are healing.. I went to my great granddaughters birthday celebration. I've had trouble with my van, which will go in tomorrow to be fixed.... I've had lots of medical appointments along the way..and it continues as this month goes by..and exciting-exciting news, I had a new great, great nephew (baby Emet) born last month. ~love~

 

My daughter Brenda, has surgery Wednesday, so would appreciate your prayers or good thoughts.

Today is my grandson's 24th birthday!! His parents have gone to Colorado to visit with him and help him celebrate.

 

 

Here he was in 2009 (nine years ago...wow!) Playing his guitar. He does love music!!

 

Today, they went to Guitar Center, in Centennial, CO. He and his dad had a ball testing out guitars. Then he moved on to the drums.. smile.. His Mom put up video's of them playing the guitars!! Sounds like they were all having a great time!!

Blessed Thanksgiving

 

First is last, and last is first...smile.. This is how our day ended. Our grandson Jesse, came to visit with his Mom and Dad. This song that I shared was the first one he sang.  He laughed as he said it was from a Bug movie, it was about a human singing to an (unknown) robot. I loved it too.. smile..

Then we named different songs we wanted him to sing...and he sang his little heart out for us!!

 

Earlier in the morning, I talked with my daughter, then face-timed with my granddaughters! It was so fun to see and talk with them.

 

 

And here was our dinner and dessert! smile... It was so good. We thanked God for all our blessings, not knowing how many more blessings were to come.

I'm Back..........

I miss my birds out my window...so this is a good reminder to continue to work harder and harder to get home! They are so beautiful aren't they??? 

I must share with you a couple neat stories that have happened to me since I've been here. Sunday my son Randy and his wife and her Mom came to see me. It was so good to visit with them! As always it was to quickly but time for them to leave, soon my son came back in and said, did you know they were playing music up front?? Course, I had no idea....he said I know the girl whose singing and she's really good. So he took me up and we all watched her (Cheryl) and her uncle as they played their guitars and sang their songs! Randy went over and talked to her and asked her to sing a couple songs on her list that he'd heard her sing before. "The House of the Rising Sun" and "Me and Bobbie McGee"....she was really good............ So that made for a wonderful SONday!!!

Monday, I snapped this picture of a little CNA that I so enjoy!  She is just the sweetest thing you'd ever want to meet. She is a  God loving precious soul. Always wants to put a smile on others faces, (which she does)!! She's always just so busy...running around taking care of all the patients...but I asked her if she'd weigh me, it had been about a week and after loosing some weight during all this problem...I was in hopes I hadn't gained it back. As we talked about weight she told me how much she weighed...and I just couldn't believe it. So, she stepped on the scales to prove it to me!! And yes, she was right...smile.. Then I stepped on it!!!! And...yeah for me, I'm still down...when she saw it...she innocently said.."Wow, you only weigh 30 pounds more then me and you're old!" I thought I'd split a gut...she is so funny!!!!

Today was a busy day for me, I had my bath, this morning and my dear...dear friend came up afterwards and fixed my hair... What a blessing she is!!! Then I did lots of exercises...smile... I'm trying....and pray to be out of here soon...

We had another snowy blizzard yesterday and last night....SPRING where are you??? I'm hoping that too will soon be here..............

Give God the Glory...

Sunday when we went to church, I spotted these beautiful leaves... oh so colorful!! There is beauty in everything isn't there?

We had a treat in church Sunday...one of our members played the harmonica for all of us. I love this kind of music!! He is truly gifted!

After church we went out to eat. We were greeted in the restaurant by this ole guy...smile... cute huh??

Today, we headed over to have therapy. One thing, the scenery sure is beautiful on the drive over there..smile... and our weather was so nice, both yesterday and today. I fear it is to change for the worse later in the week. 

I really have to work to strengthen my back, the joys of MS...  which reminds me...I have to take my shot tonight... so it's bye...bye...and good night my friends.

MS Dance and Seminar...

I know this picture has nothing to do with MS or dancing...smile... just "bull riding"...ha..ha! Sweet little Lorelai riding the bull!! Isn't she just the most adorable thing you've ever seen?? 

Now to the MS Seminar...(boring I know compared to riding the bull with sweet little Lorelai...smile..) Friday evening we attended this seminar, it was very interesting Dr. Parry from Minnesota spoke and he was very informative, plus he had a great sense of humor!!! (Loved his accent as he was from the UK)

And than we walked down the hall and listened to Dr. Dendrite & the Twisted Synapses! As you can hear  Take me to the River, these guys are amazing. This photo does not include the lady singer but you can see her on the video! The lead guitar player, in the black shirt on the farthest right is my MS doctor! We had to laugh, his nurse, told him he was a really good musician, but not to quit his day job...ha..ha... This group does this as a fundraiser for different  charities during the year.

Now here is something so moving...I almost cried. Jay, who has MS and is in a wheel chair, with the help of his wife got up out of his chair and.......

started dancing!!! Isn't this just the neatest thing you've ever heard??? Tom told him he should just throw the wheelchair away...we were so proud of him. But he said.."No, he didn't think that would happen, and that it was a good thing his wife was holding him up"... Bless them.........

This was our Friday night...can you believe we stayed till 9 pm? For us that is a late night out...ha..ha.. We didn't sleep well that night...so Saturday was just a restful day.. This morning was another one of those mornings, so we watched church on TV, but am hoping to be able to go to a church potluck tonight! Maybe, just maybe they'll have a 'hayride', as it's going to be held at the Goodwill Camp (Tom went there when he was a boy living on the South Bottoms..)!! I told Tom, if they do have a hayride, I want to go...smile... How fun would that be???
