Update...

A couple weeks ago when I went to the doctor (by myself), I just had to drive by and check out the geese. I had to stop along the road so I could snap these pics. smile.. (I sure missed Tom....)

Speaking of Tom, I've been hoping for some good news before I put up a post. But we are still fighting the fight trying to keep him well enough for his upcoming surgery. Yes, we finally have a date set up. (good..) I can't wait for next week to come..

Aren't these geese funny to see?? Amazing how they can stand on one foot (for a long time). When I saw them doing this in the winter, I thought it was because their feet were cold......... ha! ha!

Their just so graceful...

I've still got my caregivers coming each day to help me. But am certainly looking forward to the day when Tom can come home (for good). I told him, I wrote him a poem "I Miss You When"...starting with.."I miss you when" I wake in the morning and reach for you and you're not there... to "I miss you when I run over a curb and I can't blame you.. He smiles when I read it to him!!

We've been having some amazing weather this week. It's been in the 70's, there have not been any records made, but just wonderful. So nice to have our windows open and breathing fresh air all day and night.

Sure would appreciate all your good thoughts and prayers for Tom. He really is struggling to get through this. His big beautiful heart is having such a difficult time pumping like it should.

Blessings..and good night..

Their Back

Today we were in the area where we have spotted the Canadian geese over the years. (A few months ago, we went by and there wasn't any around!)  I told Tom lets go see if the geese are back. And were they back!!! smile...

I couldn't believe how many there were... they were everywhere...on the ice, (standing and sitting) and on the lawn.

A closer look...

I looked over and saw them walking off the ice...

Here is a wider shot...look at them, walking all in a row...

Aren't they pretty????

Now, the reason I think their back is because it was 62 degrees. Yes... I know that is hard to believe, since yesterday it was freezing outside. I hate to think what the wind chills were. We had to go out again yesterday and it was so...so cold. (Actually, I thought we weren't going to get out of the van...but you know how things change!) I didn't have my ear muffs, so by the time we got out and back in the van I was freezing, or should I say, my ears were freezing...lol Sure didn't have that issue today. Tomorrow is to only be 50, but oh my...we are loving it. Can spring be far away??

Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers for my SIL , we will know what the results of the Pet scan are next week.

Time for bed...good night!!!

Off for a Ride

The other day we had to get out and about. We had to pick something up at the doctors office and I said to Tom, lets run over to where the Canadian Geese live...smile.... BUT I only saw these two heading to the water.

Yep there they are...just sailing along, enjoying life!!!

This is a far away view...see just three of them in that whole (man made) pond! Many years ago, Tom worked on this building..putting the window frames in. Actually this building in a block long. He didn't think they'd ever get it done...smile...

See...across the street...not a one. Wonder where they all were???  Hummm, only they know for sure..

Last night there were fireworks going off around 10 o'clock and our boy was beside himself. We felt so sorry for him. Finally around 11 he calmed down, the fireworks quit and we headed to bed. Tomorrow I will share what those fireworks were for..

We made an arm roast and sweet corn for lunch today. It was so nummy... nothing better than home grown sweet corn in the summertime!

Hope you're having a good weekend.

Fourth of July 2014

Well, I hope you had an amazing day and enjoyed it with friends and/or family. And remembered all the veterans who served and are serving today for us to live in this free country..

First, we went for a little walk up the street and back! Yeah for me! Rusty loved it too! I think he'd do this everyday...smile... Then we went and got a little something to eat.

I said "Let's drive out by this park and creek. It had been years since we went out there. I'd almost forgot how to get there...lol

Yes, they had geese there too...smile.. How could I not photograph them..smile..

There were people fishing... (across the water was a man and his son..)

It is really is a nice park..lots of people use the walking trails, and there are lots of them.

There were people picnicking, using the tables and grills. Some were laying out getting a tan.

And there were bikers, they also use the walking/ riding trails.

Then we headed down by the riverfront and Tom said "look at all those campers across the river!"

So, across the river we went...and drove through the park. We saw so many different units...it was fun to see all of them. When we saw this deck off the side of this motorhome I thought who thinks of these things?? I will show you some of the others in another post!

This is a late post...although we live in a state where fireworks are illegal, they have been shooting them off like crazy tonight. And poor Rusty is just having a terrible time. He's been crying and whining. It is so sad. We had thought about getting him one of those "thunder shirts" and now I know we will.

Happy Fourth everyone..

These Guys Made me Happy...

Today we went to the doctor (so what's new? lol) and we thought we'd check out our favorite spot to see the Canadian Geese. When I looked...the little lake had none! I was so bummed. Then across the road, Tom said there they are way at the other end of the pond. So I zoomed in and yes there they were. But it wasn't a very good shot..

So, we were leaving and look what was crossing the road around the corner?? smile.. I was so excited!!

Then the final one gets to the grass...

And look at all of them..."there everywhere...there everywhere.."  ha...ha...

We parked and I got some closer shots.. smile... as they waddled over toward the water..

Look at these two... I don't think they were too happy with us invading their space.

They are unique in their own way, aren't they?? Look at that neck.. Amazing...

They decided to leave us and ran away...but only after we got to watch and photograph them. So, yes I am 'happy'...smile..

I'm really glad to say, I am feeling better and pray it continues. Tom is also improving, but it sounds like my SIL is getting it now..sad..  Seems everyone you talk to, they or someone they know has had it.

Do you have plans for the fourth?? Not us, Tom might grill some steaks (that we've had in the freezer--meat is pretty expensive now. Sure hope the farmers are getting some of it!!) Course I guess everything costs more! Well, I hope what ever your plans, that you enjoy this first weekend of July and there aren't too many fireworks going off in your neighborhood...lol

Doctor...Doctor and More...

Yesterday we had an appointment to teach Tom how to use his Sleep apnea machine! The tech was fantastic, he knew just how to use the machine and to teach people how to use it! He has been using one for 15 years and has seen the machines improve over all these years. When we came out, it was raining...and without an umbrella, we felt like these  turkeys hiding under the tree to stay out of the rain..smile...  Since we had to go next door and get some groceries, the lady at the Sleep Apnea store allowed us to use theirs smile...

When we came out..it was still raining and by now it was sleeting too..sad.. Poor Tom had to stand out in it to put my scooter away. I know he was cold and wet when he was finished. bummer... And then of course I forgot the most important item...the 8 piece chicken, we were going to get for lunch!!! So....poor Tom had to go back in the store and get it!!

Today again we headed off to a different doctor...and left a few minutes early, so I told Tom lets drive by the area that has the Canadian Geese in it. I felt so sorry for them...look at them standing on one leg, with the other one tucked under their wing. Kind of strange, huh??

Look at how deep the snow was..poor babies.

Especially after paddling around the pond in that freezing water...

Here is a closer look at them standing on their one leg. I will ask a friend why they do this and how they can stand for so long. Do any of you know? (probably because they are so cold...)

This afternoon we went to another doctor.....I had to have some blood drawn for my MS doctor, we went to our GP, he also looked at a sore on Tom's neck. He now has the same thing that I had some time ago!! They will remove it Friday...please pray all goes well.

Hope you're having a good week...and your weather is better than ours. smile...

more as it happens here in the city....
