Yes, I'm Still Here

Of course this will be a short post... But I felt I needed to put something up, so you'd know I was okay, just extremely busy right now. My life continues to change and not always for the good. As my last post told you, my daughter and her husband and my granddaughter were here the week of Thanksgiving. Now that was a blessing in itself. They took this picture out the window, I believe the day they were about to leave.  I was surprised to see all the deer. They had not been out in the open during the day for a long time. Of a night...yes, but not so much during the day. They were probably looking for some Thanksgiving day leftovers. Good thing they didn't get in our fridge or they might have found lots of them....smile...

The kids made it home safe, BUT about a week ago, my daughter was going shopping at Kohl's late one afternoon, she miss stepped and fell and broke her nose..sad... This week they put a cast on it, which went well. But today, she had to have shoulder surgery. Thank God she didn't have to have router cuff surgery, but they did a debridement and took some bone spurs out. So...any good thoughts and or prayers would be greatly appreciated, for comfort and fast healing for her.

We have Hospice coming almost every day for my sister in law. They are wonderful people and are truly helping her through this difficult time. And me as well.  Again, I'm asking for prayers for her..

Our nice weather that we were experiencing this fall has come to an end and we have been having some very cold weather with wind chills one morning of 10 below zero...brrrr Rusty does not loiter around out there to much...lol He did get to go to the groomer yesterday and now looks absolutely adorable...or should I say handsome??? smile.. I will share a picture with you soon!

I do try to get to your blogs, and read them, I just don't always leave a comment. Time just seems to fly by...and I know it's because I have slowed way down.. smile.. time doesn't change....we do! The joys of getting older, I guess.

Are you ready for Christmas?? I'm still working on it.. One of these days real soon it will be here, huh??

Blessings to you all and thank you for being so patient with me and I hope to blog more as time goes by.

Randy's Surgery and more

Well Wednesday, Randy had his skin graft surgery and all went well. But the donor site is very sore and painful. I feel so bad, and continue to pray for healing and comfort for him. (I'd appreciate you're good thoughts and prayers for him too...)

These are just some photo's of what I've spotted as I drove home the other day from Randy's. I ran a fan over to them. Some of these buildings, I think are so pretty.

We had some much cooler weather today. (Thank goodness..) Yesterday felt like a normal...'hot' no wind kind of summer day. Just no way to get comfortable outside. On these terribly hot days I've been putting a cold bottle of water in the mailbox. He always stops by, as I normally have something to be mailed. I try to send cards and letters to my friends and family almost everyday. Do you still use the snail mail?? It seems it is someone's birthday or anniversary. And I think it's fun to get mail!! smile.. Today we were just leaving and since it was cooler, I didn't put any water out for Matt, the mailman. He came walking up the driveway and he said it was pretty muggy and warm today. I felt so bad as there wasn't any water for him<>

Have you been enjoying any garden vegetables lately? We got a few tomatoes this week, so enjoyed them on a hamburger yesterday and I made BLT's today. They are so good. Sure nothing like you buy in the store..

Of course, Rusty is finally zonked out and it's time for bed..  So I will sign off for now. Good night!

Sunshine and Good News

Last week Karen's cousins were in town for a family reunion. They stopped over for a visit and brought us these beautiful flowers. The other morning, I noticed the sun lighting the flowers up!! So, of course I had to grab my camera!! (Please don't look at the dust...ha!) Have you ever noticed..when the sun is streaming through the windows....you can see every speck of dust in your house?? Anyway, I thought this was so pretty...

My son went to the Burn Hospital for his follow up on Monday, he had wonderful results and will have his next surgery in 10 days! So, I know our prayers are working. We just need to continue to pray for him.

We're back to having some terrible 'heat' again. Our heat index today was 100 degrees and is to stay this way for the rest of the week. But hopefully, we'll get some rain Thursday. Our yard is burning up, and our bushes out front look water deprived..sad..

I hope your weather is more favorable then ours has been.

Blessings and good night..

Beautiful Flowers

Good evening...how are all of you doing tonight?? I can not believe it's ten o'clock already!! Time is not my friend...ha! Rusty was  a little stinker tonight...so I had to let him in and out a few times. I thought..."now I know why I don't get any blogging done." As soon as I get my laptop on my lap...he wants attention!!! And of course, being the good Mommy that I am,  I cater to his needs..smile...

I took this picture last week of my flowers out on my front porch. They are doing so well.. I just read on Facebook, the lady who potted these for me is retiring... Good for her, sad for all those folks who used to buy her flowers at the Farmers Market and myself. She is truly a gifted lady.  I did have to move this front flower over into the shade more, that sun was really hard on it. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow to show you how much they have grown in the last week!

Our weather has cooled down for a few days. Tonight I went out on the back porch when I let Rusty out (one of those many times.) The clouds were so pretty... I wished I had taken my camera with me.  It must have been the photographer in me, as I felt so bad, I just wanted to get my camera! But, when I looked across the street I saw a black cat meandering down the sidewalk, all I could think of was getting Rusty in before he spotted it. He DOES NOT l ike cats!!! smile.. So, I bribed him with a treat and got him in before he saw it!!! Whew!! So, there went my camera idea!!!

Next week my son will have surgery on his burns...prayers....prayers....prayers please... I know he is going to be fine, as he will be in one of the best burn units and has one of the best doctors. But, I also know God loves to have his people pray for others.

My daughter will be flying in Monday from Georgia to stay for a week. She loves and wants to spend a little time with her brother as he recoups from his first surgery.

And of course Mom loves having her here too...smile...

Guess I'd better close for tonight..

Prayer for healing...please...

We most certainly are in the Fall season here. The trees are turning such gorgeous colors. So nice to see in the midst of everything else that is going on. Since I put up my last post, Tom had to go to the hospital Friday with poor oxygen levels. They ended up putting him in ICU over night and then into a regular room. The latest news I had was they would operate Thursday. But....I worry about that happening with his oxygen levels that he now has. However, this morning they said he had a pretty good night. I try not to ask 'why'?? Or ask 'what is to come'? But it defiantly is hard, as he is such a good, caring and loving man. I thank God for bringing him into my life all those many years ago. He is my soul mate so its hard to see him struggling like he is and not being able to do much to ease this pain.

With the daylight savings time change it gets dark so early. I miss our evenings together, and have to leave the hospital before the sun goes down. Today, my daughter flies in and along with her brother who is here now and taking care of my needs will also be a great support to me and Tom. I am so blessed to have such wonderful children.

Just wanted to check in and ask for continued prayers for this amazing man, as he struggles through this health issue. Also, add his sister who is fighting cancer.

I read Our Daily Bread booklet each day, and one day I found (in part) this article.
"When someone we know is facing serious physical difficulty or a spiritual crisis, it is our privilege to join together in prayer, bringing our friends to Jesus--the only One who can meet their deepest needs."

Lord Jesus we know that You can speak the words of eternal life and healing to people in great need. We bring them to you in prayer today. Amen..

Thank you for your continued support.

Update...

A couple weeks ago when I went to the doctor (by myself), I just had to drive by and check out the geese. I had to stop along the road so I could snap these pics. smile.. (I sure missed Tom....)

Speaking of Tom, I've been hoping for some good news before I put up a post. But we are still fighting the fight trying to keep him well enough for his upcoming surgery. Yes, we finally have a date set up. (good..) I can't wait for next week to come..

Aren't these geese funny to see?? Amazing how they can stand on one foot (for a long time). When I saw them doing this in the winter, I thought it was because their feet were cold......... ha! ha!

Their just so graceful...

I've still got my caregivers coming each day to help me. But am certainly looking forward to the day when Tom can come home (for good). I told him, I wrote him a poem "I Miss You When"...starting with.."I miss you when" I wake in the morning and reach for you and you're not there... to "I miss you when I run over a curb and I can't blame you.. He smiles when I read it to him!!

We've been having some amazing weather this week. It's been in the 70's, there have not been any records made, but just wonderful. So nice to have our windows open and breathing fresh air all day and night.

Sure would appreciate all your good thoughts and prayers for Tom. He really is struggling to get through this. His big beautiful heart is having such a difficult time pumping like it should.

Blessings..and good night..

Tomorrow...Spring and Surgery...

I thought I'd share this photo with you that I took awhile back. This building use to be the tallest one in our city for many years. It is such a beautiful old building, the floors are old and made of stone. It always seemed, to me anyway, that it was full of 'dentist'...lol Probably because that is where I always went, when I was young. Actually, when I was small, I remember having a tooth pulled and it only cost my folks $1.00. ha..ha! Can you imagine? I know, I can't either..it seems to really date me..lol My dad use to be so scared of dentists, I think if he could have jumped out of one of those windows, he would have...smile... But he was a stronger man then that, so he would bite the bullet (no pun intended) and get it fixed! smile...

Now, this is weird I know..but this is the back of the  building (on the left side of the picture), all these years I thought the building was all white (like the first picture.) Anyway, they are revamping it again, see the crane lifting something up to the roof? We're so excited, as this is such a historic building.

I hate to admit this but I was in my jammies all day yesterday! Remember I took my shot the night before and I was just fagged out all day. Today started early, as my friend came around 8 to clean the house! Yeah!!! It had been a few weeks since she's been here as we've had appointments every time she was coming. It was fun to visit with her and tonight we have a very clean house! smile.. Then soon my other friend came and cut and fixed my hair. (sweet...)

Tomorrow is going to be the first day of Spring, I'm sure everyone is excited! Are you happy about it?? Dumb question..huh??

"Happy Spring 2014"

Also tomorrow my SIL goes in for surgery...your prayers would be greatly appreciated. God loves to know there are people who care for each other and ask Him for his help with prayers .

Update...

This morning this picture was posted on Steve's FB page of him and his family before he headed into surgery. He has three very handsome sons and a beautiful, caring wife.

We received this message this afternoon, after surgery. Surgery is complete and the doctor says it could not have went better. He estimates 80-90 percent of it was removed. He is very happy with the results. With that said, early indications are that it is glioblastoma, which is the aggressive stage IV cancerous tumor. We will need all our friends to help him through this.  Some things are only numbers.....we are going to beat the odds.  Please continue to pray and support him.

Thanks for all your prayers...and I hope you had a wonderful day. Tomorrow I'll tell you some good news.
