Interesting Stuff

 

This is why I love this time of the year! Everywhere I look there are beautiful flowers like these! They actually were outside the banks driveway.

 

 

One of our neighbors have these gorgeous tulips! And it looks like there will be other flowers that will bloom soon! She actually has an English Garden beside her house. So...so cool!

 

After we took my SIL to the hospital Saturday, we stopped to get lunch at a Mexican Restaurant. We were able to park about a block away, so I walked using my walker. (I paid for it that night…) But the food was amazing, so worth the pain…lol While we were sitting there eating, it was interesting to people watch. (My Great Grandfather, who was from Missouri, always said he loved to just sit and  people watch!) Over the last 100 years or so, I don’t think things have changed that much. The restaurant was pretty full, only a couple booths left. However, the line to wait in, was very small. Then all of a sudden it was noon and it became overflowing….. As you can see they were lined up almost out the back door. While others, like us, came in the front door.

I did see something ‘strange’, now that is just my opinion. It really wasn’t offensive, I guess. But the outfit this girl had on, reminded me of lingerie! Black, lacy underpants. (Oh yes, and with cowboy boots..LOL) I’m sure this is fine, I know I’m old and not up to date on the young people’s clothes. I’m hoping one of you can shed a light on my “interesting stuff”…

Finally, last night about 8:30 they released my SIL from the hospital. She has rested all day. After we went out to get her medications today, we stopped by the Senior Center and got 3 meals to go.  (They had cabbage rolls, with root vegetables!) When we got home, our friends were here. We had a nice visit! As always it was wonderful to see them. On Mothers Day this year, it will have been 15 years since she's had her brain aneurysm. She is a fighter and her husband has taken amazing care of her.

Garden in a Yard and Update

 

As we were heading down the street the other day, I noticed they had their front yard tilled up again this year. We had a letter from the guy who tilled our garden spot last year, reminding us to set up an appointment for this year. I thought it was too early, then I saw this and thought...maybe it wasn't to soon. smile...

 

 

Saw this as we were heading to the doctors the other day. I told Tom, after the appointment lets run over and see if the Canadian Geese were still there. But, I had someone coming to the house to do my hair, so I thought better of it and headed home..sad...

 

Great news, my SIL will be coming home tomorrow. I know this is due in a major part due to all your loving, caring thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much, and I would also appreciate your continued prayers for her to stay well and strong.

Trees in bloom and Prayer Request



 

I snapped this picture the other day of our backyard. Doesn't it look so peaceful?? Love springtime, with green-green grass and blooming trees. Some smell so delicious!!

 

I took this one as we were climbing our hill of our flowering crab tree. I was wrong, the wind and rain didn't get rid of all those beautiful blossoms.. (Love it!)

 

Here is some of what our neighbors trees look like. Our old neighbor planted them several years ago. They moved and now the new neighbor is enjoying the fruits of his labor (so to speak...lol) They are gorgeous in the spring.

 

Just had to add this 'big' guy enjoying the fruits of our labors....hee-hee!

 

Now on a somber note. Yesterday we had to take my SIL to the hospital. She is dehydrated, so they are keeping her for a few days. I'd like to ask for prayers for her. I know how much God loves to hear from us...

Good News along with a Busy Day

 

Good morning everyone.. this is unusual for me to be posting in the morning. But last night, we had our monthly potluck and as we were leaving this is what we saw...the sun setting in the east! As always, it was fun, along with great food and wonderful fellowship.

 

Our day was crazy..busy! It started with hearing the results on my SIL's pet scan, which was good news. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for her. Praise God, he is our healer isn't he??

 

Later on my friend stopped by and fixed my hair, we had a nice visit also. Then to the potluck!!!

 

We woke up late again today...will we ever get use to this time change (without setting our alarms?? LOL) I hope so anyway, I try to have a schedule in the morning which is really messed up when we sleep in.

 

Well, I did spot a robin up the street from us yesterday, but none in our yard. Maybe they don't like turkey doo-doo all over the yard. ha..ha.. Course I'm sure those turkeys have walked through everyone's yards up here..

Back to Normal

 

Don't these guys kind of look normal?? smile... We kept spotting them flying north everyday...then the other morning I spotted them standing out in the field. (I made Tom stop right in the street so I could get this picture...lol)

 

This is what we saw Monday after all the snow we had Sunday night. Finally it did melt by the afternoon. Yeah!

 

The day after...sure looked scary huh?? smile... But thanks to our beautiful sun...it did melt.

 

Later we went shopping at Target, one of the first times since they moved to a free standing building. When we went in (for our four items we needed)  I stopped at the help desk to see where we could find them! An amazing young lady helped us! She offered to have someone pick up the 'four' items we wanted. I thanked her but said we just would like to shop..smile.. So she called and got the row numbers of the things we wanted. How about that? Then off we went....we ran into to some friends and here comes that sweet young lady with a $1.00 off coupon for candy! She said, I knew you were going to buy candy and wanted to be sure you had this coupon from our ad..smile... She should be nominated as 'employee of the month'!! I'm going to call and talk to her manager and suggest it!!!

 

My SIL is finished with her infusions...so all of us will be sleeping in tomorrow......Praise God!!

We were busy today at the doctors office with my SIL..she will go in the hospital tomorrow and will have surgery next week. Life can be so difficult sometimes. Everything is in God's hands, and I pray things will go well with her.. I really would appreciate your prayers for her.

I just finished with the newsletter. Yes, I'm late again..smile... But it will go out this week! Yeah!!! Now, time to work on taxes...uggg
