Trees in bloom and Prayer Request

I snapped this picture the other day of our backyard. Doesn't it look so peaceful?? Love springtime, with green-green grass and blooming trees. Some smell so delicious!!

I took this one as we were climbing our hill of our flowering crab tree. I was wrong, the wind and rain didn't get rid of all those beautiful blossoms.. (Love it!)

Here is some of what our neighbors trees look like. Our old neighbor planted them several years ago. They moved and now the new neighbor is enjoying the fruits of his labor (so to speak...lol) They are gorgeous in the spring.

Just had to add this 'big' guy enjoying the fruits of our labors....hee-hee!

Now on a somber note. Yesterday we had to take my SIL to the hospital. She is dehydrated, so they are keeping her for a few days. I'd like to ask for prayers for her. I know how much God loves to hear from us...

Blessings to your Sunday..

We Woke to Beautiful Skies

We woke 'very' early this morning.  So we sat in front of the fire, read the paper with a hot 'cuppa' coffee in hand! Soon, I noticed the skies out the window!

I told Tom, I must get my camera out and head to the kitchen window. I loved how the skies start to light up as it rises in the eastern sky.

It was so neat to watch as the earth rotates and the sun breaks through nights darkness. And then we know...another day--clean slate, as we start anew.

I spotted this woodpecker far away in the neighbors yard.  (So this was the best I could do, getting a shot of him.)

Tom and his sister made pork chops, with potatoes and gravy. Normally, they would have put it in the oven...to blend all the flavors. Guess what! The oven wouldn't come on...so I'll have to call the repairman tomorrow. I know the stove is old, but hopefully it'll just need a part.

Hope your weekend was wonderful!

Cold Winter Day

The other day I made "3 Bean Soup" it was so good especially on a cold winter day! There is a story behind this recipe (look at the recipe through this link here). One New Years we were having oyster stew for the family, but Tom's sister doesn't like it. I felt so bad that morning, wanting to fix her something to eat too. So I made this recipe for her so. It was so good everyone also had a bowl of it too...smile..

I noticed Rusty the other morning, taking his nap with his toy, protectively tucked under his front paw.

Pretty soon he laid on his side almost letting  his toy go.

Finally, he rolled over on his back and totally forgot all about his toy...smile...

We had another pretty visitor at the feeders. It has been very cold. We were so use to those lovely warm days. Tomorrow I will tell you about our adventure once again with Tom's heart monitor! (pray that his results will be good.)

Hope you're having warmer weather than we are.. smile..

A New Old Visitor

What a nice surprise yesterday to see this Red-bellied Woodpecker at our feeder once again! There was also a Downy Woodpecker, but I didn't get a picture of him. Not sure why they stay away during some seasons then return later. I'm thinking they probably get their food from other sources during the spring and summer months! I have many other photos to share of all the birds that are returning! How about you?? Seen any new/old birds at your feeders??

It's late and I need to get ready for bed...but wanted to share! Hope you're having a good week!

Overcast Rainy Day

I hope you are having a blessed SONday! Our's started with a phone call saying that church was cancelled due to the ice. The church parking lot was covered with ice and with the majority of the congregation being elderly it was a smart call. We watched the church service on TV instead of attending church. Rusty was just watching out the window, trying to see what he could see. Yesterday, he had to go to the vet for all his shots and stuff. He was a good boy, but has been pretty sleepy for the last couple days due to it.

The rain drops were falling most of the day, and tonight it'll freeze, so they are advising people to stay home. Tomorrow we are going to the doctor in the morning, but by the time we go it should all be melted and safe to drive!

Tom spotted this fat squirrel out on the patio today...looking for something to eat! smile...

While this little guy found something to eat...smile....

Tom finished up the chicken today. We had a mix of rice and wild rice...he added chicken and mushrooms to it! It was really tasty and filling! I hope you had a blessed day!
