August is here...

Don't you just love these zinnias? Such beautiful summer/fall colors. Kind of like August...summer...heading into fall.

I also love these red zinnias along with mostly yellow and lavender flowers!

We had lots of running to do today and these are some of the sites we saw.. Flag half staff in honor of our local Col. Bud Day, who passed away this week. A man riding a kids bike...then there were real bikers heading up the highway, we assume headed to Sturges, SD! And last another shot of our Missouri river.

When we went to eat, I spotted this pay phone...wow, I didn't realize they even had them anymore!! Do you remember them? That was the way to communicate years ago. Then there is an Indian head carved into this local building, more often than not, people never see it unless they are made aware of it. Beautiful. The old fire truck, used to advertise a local business! Sure gets ones attention! And the heart center where we went for Tom today, has the gopher holding a heart! One year the Art Center artist created these for different businesses around town. They are so cool. I will get a collage one day of them for you to see. Most of them have disappeared and replaced with something else I'm sorry to say.

And this one was for fun! Someday, we must stop at the Boutique and see exactly what women want...lol And of course more flowers...this is the time of year they are all in full bloom.

I am still trying to get my laptop working properly...can not wait till it's back to normal!

Wishing you an amazing August!

Today was another HOT day... actually hotter than yesterday! It was 103 with a heat index of 114! Our poor air conditioner hasn't stopped running all day..sad... I bet little Lorelai, her mom and dad wish they were in the pool today...smile...

A project I was working on has failed...thanks to the internet and the computers anti virus (we think)!  Anyway, tomorrow I will try something else. smile... nothing ventured nothing gained! smile... I know everything happens for a reason! I will share my finished project with you when it's finished!

My daughter Brenda, sent me these pictures today...she said this cat kind of made itself at home on her deck today..smile... Tom wondered if she had fed this it?? Well, later she told me yes she had fed her and her babies last year...lol She must have remembered! (She thinks she's the neighbors barn cat...however, isn't she a pretty cat?)

I hope you are all having an amazing week! I know the weather is different all over the world. Sometimes I just talk about the weather in my area... but I know we all need something different. I pray for better weather where ever you are and what ever you need....

It's Just Another Dell...

First...these pictures have nothing to do with this blog posting...smile.. But wanted to share these photos along the way...smile.. (this photo was taken at my friends house the other day...isn't this chair just ever so cool??)

Well the last couple days, we've been busy. Tom got me a new computer and we had our IT guy come up and set it up for me, and moved the old computer downstairs. That way, this summer when we spend time down there I'll have a computer down there!!

Today I worked on the new computer trying to finish the newsletter... I discovered that it changed the 'font's'...I think the reason is that my old computer was Windows XP (which I love...) and this new one is Windows 7...so I hope I will get a grip on it and love it as much as my old one...smile... course the old one got to be really ~slow~~~maybe I'll have to clean it up some day when I don't have anything else to do...smile...

Poor Tom had an accident today... yesterday he got a baked chicken for lunch and today he used some of the leftovers in chicken noodle soup! Oh yummmm.... Well, while he was making it, he went to open some peppercorns and was going to grind them up...well, the lid flew off and three fours of them came out...some or should I say 'a lot' went in the soup and the rest went on the floor!! It really tasted amazing, but....we had to pick the peppers out of it!!! Our IT guy came back this afternoon and loaded Outlook on the computer, as last night..I didn't have e-mail. Panic!!!! smile... The new computer only had Word and Excel on it..... Well..the joys of getting something new...smile... How has your day been? We've had lots of rain off and on today which we really need! And of course, we're so excited that it was rain and not *snow*...smile... (Just heard thunder...and are seeing lighting!...can it be "spring"??)

"The Many Thoughts of Grace"

March 28, 1937: Easter Sunday! Mr. Crabb hugged me. Bill and mother came down and we went to church. Had angel food cake, Jello, Swiss Steak for dinner. We went to church tonight. Mrs. Johnston went along. Cecil asked if Mel got gone. Doyle teased me about being tired and sleepy.
