Summer, Yucca and Roses

The other day we stopped by the bank and as we were pulling out, I spotted these lovely roses. So of course...snap...snap...snap went my camera..smile..  They were so pretty.

Do you remember these umbrella trees (that's what I call them since they are shaped like an umbrella?) We drove by them and I thought their still very pretty! Also, it shows how 'green' it is here.

Here are some more flowers from the bank. Not sure who their gardener is but they certainly do a wonderful job!! Since their pretty now, they will just flourish this summer.

Tom went out this morning and took this picture of one of the blooming yucca plants. They are so pretty.

I cut the picture to get a close up of one of the blooms.

Today, we had a 'hot' summer (tomorrow) day. It was 88 degrees and is to be that hot again tomorrow!! I know summer officially begins tomorrow, but it was having a good start at it today!! smile..

My daughter was in Charlotte, NC at a rugby game..and it was terribly hot there too..

And my son is playing with his band in a town south of here, in this heat!!

What is your weather like where you are as you approach the first day of summer??

Short one tonight...

Spotted the rose at the doctors office again today..their looking much better..smile...

Thought I'd share my front porch flowers with you. Aren't they growing?? Do you see our little Nome sitting between them?? I found him on sale for $2!! Big Smile..

I noticed this fog today, then heard on the news it's due to the wildfires in Canada. Amazing isn't it that the smoke travels that far..

Hope you've had a good week so far...

Ivy and more...

Here is a picture of sweet little Ivy...sunning in her incubator.. with her shades on...smile... Her Mommy posted this picture on Face Book...and I quote "3 pounds 10 ounces, already raving"! How cool is this?? Remember her birth weight was 3 pounds 9 ounces?? (yes she is Baby A) Oh ya, 'raving' is an adj. and  it's definition is:  Exciting admiration ....that is exactly how we all feel about this little beauty!!! Total Admiration!!!

The other day, Tom's sister got this beautiful rose when she had her colonoscopy. She gave it to me as she didn't think she'd be able to keep it alive..smile... We really tried to convince her to keep it...but she insisted...so we have been enjoying it and each time I look at it I say a prayer for her health. Tomorrow we will hear more.

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment, it was to be at 2:30, then they called and asked if we could come in at 3 as the doctor had been at an out reach clinic and was running late. (What could we say??) We got up there around 3 and after waiting in a very "hot" waiting room, having a couple tests, finally talking to the doctor, we got out of there around 6 p.m. Whew....I had a terrible headache!!! Do you get the idea that I don't really like doctors and tests??? smile... (Probably not, since I'm always going to them!!) Well...there is one more test he wants me to have in a few weeks. I'm really nervous about it..."I am holding your hand, so don't be afraid. I'm here to help you." Isaiah 41:13 I shall keep this in my heart until the test over.

I had wanted to do a post yesterday, as it would have been my mom (Grace's) 95 birthday!! I will do one later this week! smile...

I hope you are having a good week...

more as it happens here in the city....

Something new at our House...

The other day, I spotted this rose outside a restaurant we go to.  But as you can see, they are slowly dying..sad Guess 'fall' truly is in the air.

Today, we got a new mattress....yeah! At least that is what I hope I say in the morning...ha... We had a "sleep number bed" and it has just gotten difficult to sleep in...so we're hoping the new one will be better for both of us!!

Today has been cool and 'windy'! The trees are dropping their leaves like crazy. They are beginning to look so naked and soon there will be none. Won't be long, and we'll be seeing our neighbors, through the branches...winter will soon be here, I'm afraid..

I understand our sweet little Lorelai made Facebook Fan Photo of the day again...smile... wouldn't you know, I missed it... (I sent this picture in awhile back.) I guess the newscaster said something to the effect "If you're having a bad day then hide your head in the toy box!" ha...ha...

Tomorrow, I think I'll share with you a story I found about Grace (Mom) when she was very young. If you love stepping back in time you'll enjoy this story..

Have a good night and pray we do too...smile....

Busy Day...

I just have to tell you about our day! smile...  As we headed out this morning, we saw a mama and two baby deer. I was scrambling to get my camera out of my purse, turned on, open my window and try to get a picture...but...as you can see they ran up the alley! sad....

We ran around and did our business... I spotted these roses...aren't they pretty??? As you know, I love yellow...and especially yellow roses! Years ago a friend of and her husband bought me 3 rose bushes..one was white, one red and the last was a yellow peace rose! Big Smile.... I remember my Mom and Dad would come to the city to buy groceries and would stop by and pick one...then call me that evening when I got home from work to tell me she had 'stole' a rose! smile...bless her heart, she loved them too!!

So this rose is for you Mom.... love and miss you.......

I also spotted these flowers today...I love all the beautiful colors and it is so nice to see pretty flowers especially this year...with our terrible heat! Today was another 'hot' one..it was 'only' 93..but felt much hotter... I was glad to get home when we did!

This was a shot when we headed down to WalMart...smile... I couldn't believe how busy they were...then I remembered, it's Labor Day weekend!!! And I'm sure some people were off for the weekend... but it was sure fun to go shopping!

Then tonight...I looked out the window and saw a baby deer in the yard...eating the crab apples that are falling on the ground! The poor things, I think they are so hungry due to the heat. Most of the grass and what they eat has burnt up..sad...

Well, have you...stepped out and looked at the "Blue Moon"?? (Well, it's not really blue...) But when there are two full moons in the same month..they call it a 'blue moon'!! smile...

Hope you have a lovely weekend...
