Fall is Officially Here...

It seemed like fall came quickly this year...I guess it's just like the rest of our time. It does fly by. No matter what...the leaves still are beautiful!!

Just think, this is what the yard looked like a week before. Later in the week, the winds came up in a fiery, and we didn't have a 'rain storm' or a 'snow storm', but we had a "leaf storm"!!! It has actually been raining leaves... smile... As I watched out my window....I wanted to run out there..catch one in mid air...kiss it and through it off again! (Susan Branch quote!) Even though it looks like fall, we have had summer weather all week. In the 90's with humidity..uggg
So, are you having fall or summer weather?? (and for my friends down under...spring or winter weather??)

Actually, I have been getting up early enough to see the sunrise!! I always wish the camera could actually capture the true colors of the sky and sunrise and sunsets. The photos are pretty so, but just know they are much more beautiful through your own eyes..

I've had a busy week, (which is good) for the most part. I got a 'shingles shot' Wednesday. Have you had one?? Well, they're a little different, in that they inject into your wings...lol Now I know, you're going "wings?" That's what I call my loose skin under my upper arms. smile... It was a little sore that night, but I slept okay. However, by noon the next day, I was pretty weak, and my energy level was nil. Today, I had the body aches, along with a headache. But I took an ibprophen and that really helped. So I figure by tomorrow, I should be back to my normal..smile...

Can you believe this month is almost over-with? As I said at the beginning of this post...it sure feels like time flies.. Have a nice weekend..

Reflections

Here is our granddaughter Ashley. She never needs to buy a mask, she just does the makeup herself. The first one (the zombie) she did a couple years ago, the second one she did yesterday, (a deer)! Isn't she gifted??

Yesterday, we went to the doctor to get our flu shots. Look at this nurse, isn't she adorable?? I know that is not the right word to describe a witch, but that was what came to mind when I saw her. (With that smile, she looks like a 'good witch' doesn't she??) However, she wasn't the one who gave us our shots!! Maybe I wouldn't have called her a good witch if she had. smile...  Have you gotten yours this year yet?? I have a bad headache today, otherwise no aches or pains. That was one of the reasons we didn't go to the fishfry tonight.

Look at the treats that Rusty got last night (from his Mommy and Daddy..)lol  We've given him some of the cookies, but are saving the Mummy for another day. smile... We didn't turn our porch light on last night, we really don't have very many children up here in this area number one, and Rusty would have gone crazy every time the doorbell rang!! (and that would have been stressful on him..they were talking about it on the news and they also said it's hard on the dogs.)

The tree a few days ago...

And here it was yesterday. What happened? Cold weather, that's what has happened. smile..

When we saw all these 20 some turkeys in the neighborhood park, all I could think of was "they came to the park to play!" ha..ha..

Sounds like most of you in the states are experiencing cold weather. Some of you are even experiencing *snow*.  Uggg... I certainly am not looking forward to that this year. Seems the older we get the harder it is to accept winter.

More tomorrow...

Last Three Days...

Tom noticed this cardinal on the tomato plant wire... Love it that they are back...

And there was a chick a dee at the leaf filled bird bath...smile...

And the woodpecker at the suet...

And then...the other morning..our friend was here (she cleaned for us) and she spotted all these turkeys in the neighbors yard.  She was so surprised and had to go out and take a picture of them! smile..

The first picture shows our yard...full of leaves. Tom's rider went on the blink, so he got behind on his mowing. smile.. When he got it back, he spent all afternoon mowing and picking up all those leaves. The lawn service said he should bag them this time, then they would come in and seed and fertilize it. They came yesterday, so we are praying it will rain tonight or in the morning so he doesn't have to water it!!! The last time he mows for the year, he can mulch it. Yeah...so much less work.

Last night we had our yearly South Bottoms dinner. There is a restaurant in a small town south of us that we go to every year. She is an amazing cook and all the food is homemade! She had about 6 or 8 salads...from cole slaw to fruit salads! There was turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green  beans and homemade rolls! For dessert we got ice cream and a "big" chocolate chip cookie! We brought ours home since we were so.....full from that luscious meal!!! Oh ya, I forgot..we are entering into that time of year where we end up gaining weight. (ugggh)

I just had to take a picture of that adorable black and white cat that was sitting outside the door waiting for it's young master. (the ladies granddaughter who helped her set up for us!)

The sign above our table said "The Liars Table"....smile... isn't that cute??

When we left the partial moon was out...great photo opportunity! smile...

Even though it was only about 7:30 the sun was going down and it was getting dark out. Doesn't "He" light up our skies beautifully??

Today we had planned on going to the doctor to get our flu shots, but we didn't feel like it, so will do it next week! Tom never has a reaction to it, but I usually do..sad

Hope you're having a good week...

more as it happens here in the city................

Something new at our House...

The other day, I spotted this rose outside a restaurant we go to.  But as you can see, they are slowly dying..sad Guess 'fall' truly is in the air.

Today, we got a new mattress....yeah! At least that is what I hope I say in the morning...ha... We had a "sleep number bed" and it has just gotten difficult to sleep in...so we're hoping the new one will be better for both of us!!

Today has been cool and 'windy'! The trees are dropping their leaves like crazy. They are beginning to look so naked and soon there will be none. Won't be long, and we'll be seeing our neighbors, through the branches...winter will soon be here, I'm afraid..

I understand our sweet little Lorelai made Facebook Fan Photo of the day again...smile... wouldn't you know, I missed it... (I sent this picture in awhile back.) I guess the newscaster said something to the effect "If you're having a bad day then hide your head in the toy box!" ha...ha...

Tomorrow, I think I'll share with you a story I found about Grace (Mom) when she was very young. If you love stepping back in time you'll enjoy this story..

Have a good night and pray we do too...smile....
