Our Little Robber

Oh ya, there he is on the bird suet feeder. lol  He is such an acrobat! Of course they are fun to watch, but they can be destructive too.

One day, I looked out there and the suet and the holder were both gone. I thought, what?? Karen went out to see if she could find it, and there it was laying at the back door!!! Reminded me of Rusty, bringing his plate...when he wants more food, maybe the squirrel is the same way. lol Anyway, Karen put those white ties on it so he can't open it like he did before. So far that part has worked but we still can't keep him away. smile...

We've had so many birds at the feeder today. Chic a Dee!

Woodpecker...(there was a male and a female!)

Papa and Mama Cardinals!

Then there was this poor robin, sitting on the cover of the bird bath. I bet he was wondering where the water was...

How has your week been? Are you enjoying this first week of November??

Flowers, Birds and more...

Isn't this the truth? So often we can see so much, by just looking.

I spotted this bush with these gorgeous flowers on them. Do I know what they are? No, but I hope some of you will know.

They really don't look real do they? Guess I should have picked some and brought them home. smile...

It's been busy at our feeder and bird bath this week. The robins are still around. Guess that surprised me, I figured they were long gone. Today we got our fireplace turned on...so now we're ready for winter. Well, almost...Thursday we're having our 'tiger paws' snow tires put on. With them, we'll be able to make it up these hills this winter! smile...

Tomorrow will be a very busy day. But a fun and happy one. I will let you know all about it in another post.

Hope your week has been going well.

Whose the Culprit??

Do you see what happened?? Yes, someone (whoops) something broke the old bird bath!  Yep, it finally broke in half!!

I hadn't thought much about turkeys, then all of a sudden they showed up! Hummm, it could have been them, especially if more than one of them jumped up there.

However...could it have been this little guy, trying to jump over to the feeder and missing his leap and landing on the birdbath????

No, I don't think it was the Blue Jay, (even though Tom said there was 6 of them out there the other day!) This isn't a very clear picture, but thought it was funny!! smile...

I don't have a picture of the next varmint we think just might have done it.  Last night Tom looked out onto the patio, it was dark but the light from the kitchen dimly shined on it. And he hollered at me...look what's out here. There was a possum, waddling around looking for food! Soon he disappeared into the night...

So, the verdicts still out on who might have broken the old birdbath. Actually, we bought that a million years ago...(so it seems..) and we paid little or nothing for it..(like $20!) So...I think we got our moneys worth out of it..smile.. That being said, I wish I could figure out how to use that pedestal...any suggestions???

On a serious note..today we were shopping and I saw Darlene an old Red Hat friend. She is an amazing lady, and has been battling cancer for a very long time. But she is so positive and just keeps going. She said she hadn't been to Red Hats for a couple months, she has lost so much weight and all her beautiful outfits won't fit anymore. (tear) Tomorrow, she goes in for brain surgery, but has put herself in God's hands. (Bless her...bless her!) Because of her faith she is so strong. I am asking for prayers for her . Thank you and if you need prayer please let me know..

Good night....

Yummm....

Yes, it's apple season time! We had some neighborly deer out here yesterday morning eating the flowering crab apple tree apples!! This little guy was so hungry!!

Look at him...isn't he adorable?? He was looking at me like..am I posing good for you?...lol

Not to worry, he wasn't alone...there were a couple bigger ones with him (or her)! They were getting their fill of apples, which we were so glad to see. Some years those trees produce a zillion of those tiny little apples and Tom has to rake them up. This way they are doing the job for him..smile...

So now...what do you think? Maybe they knocked the bird bath off...hummm Might have been!

How has your day been going today? Ours was a rainy one...more about all that tomorrow..

Drink of Water

Yesterday morning we woke up to a yard full of turkeys!!! lol Or should I say a bird bath full of turkeys... Tom has refilled the bath, but there wasn't much in it when they got done...ha..ha.. Rusty did not like it that they were out there. He let us know, we had some strangers in the backyard...

They were also up here on the top level in 'his' yard...where he goes out and does whatever dogs do...lol When he got out there he could smell them and stood there barking at the scent. I know, he's a weird dog..

My SIL thought I should label the picture "Who says we don't have big birds in Iowa? Look at those Robins in our birdbath!..." lol...

Then we noticed our other bird bath...the top was laying on the patio (broken!) Tom went down and said it was cracked across the bottom. So now I need to see if anyone has them on sale or on clearance. I remember buying this about 24 years ago and it was cheap, but I've always just loved having it available for the birds. So...now who knocked it over?? Turkeys?? Or who...the saga continues!! More tomorrow..........

We made stew for dinner yesterday. It was so nummy. Good time of the year for it too!! And of course don't you know, it will be better tomorrow!! smile...

We made Salisbury Steak yesterday...I love this quick and easy recipe.. click here or on the word Salisbury Steak above to see it and the recipe!

Have you been watching Cedar Cove on Hallmark on Saturday nights?? Loved that series, but it ended for the season last night. I hope they continue having these little series on Saturday nights...Not much else on..

Hope you are having a blessed SONday!...
