Happy 4th of July Weekend

Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend🇺🇸
Yesterday, I had no plans so watched the movie, "The Beauty and the Beast". It was the first time I have seen it and I loved it!  It was just one of those lazy days. Then by dusk, the firework started going off! My neighbors had an amazing display. This is just one of many photos I took. I had thought about sitting out on the porch to watch them, but was afraid with all the noise that 'Winter' might try to run out. And I not ever see her again...sad So, I took them through the door. I think the hours were until 11 or 11:30 that the could be fired off. So it quieted down and I got ready for bed.  It wasn’t but a few minutes and BANG! It sounded like they were right out my bedroom.  It must have gone on for another hour.  I’d start to doze off...and another BANG-it was awful. And yes, Winter was afraid, but thankfully not as bad as Rusty was.

Today I went out and was checking my flowers. My son had come over earlier and watered them. With our 90+ degree temperatures and no rain, they really need to be watered.  The marigolds are doing amazing, they look so good. My daylilies are just starting to bloom. Tomorrow I will snap a picture of them. Their just so pretty.

This is a picture of part of my granddaughters garden. They plan to freeze and can lots of food items. They have fruit trees, along with grapes. A great variety!  I got to Facetime with her and her sister today. (For two hours-😁)  We got caught up on a lot of things and tried to solve all the problems of the world. Ha Ha They are both very cautious and wear masks. And try to stay away from crowds. Very smart...I think! One has been going into work at the Vet's, while the other has been able to work from home.  But starting tomorrow she has to go in the office.

Well, I hear the booming again (which by the way is illegal). But, it’s time to go to bed.  My prayers are with all of you.

Bye for now...

Rubber Gloves

Rabbit-Rabbit..as Susan Branch always says at the first of every month.. (For good luck)🙂

Now to rubber gloves.  It’s really hard to think of a good thing about having to wear them.  But there are time when it’s a must! Such as today. My pharmacist stopped by and gave me my B-12 shot. She was wearing a mask and gloves.  She went over to pet "Winter" and she let her! The good thing...about the gloves, it allowed her to pet her! She is allergic to cats. And could never pet them before.  Today she enjoyed being able to love up on her for a change. She says she is so pretty and has taken pictures of her to show everyone at the Pharmacy. Now she’ll be able to share the fact that she’s had a first! Being able to pet this pretty cat!!

I know this is short, but happy July! Hope to write more often!

Bye for now🌼

She Lays in Wait

In some ways it’s funny, but actually it’s annoying. It seems the minute I get out of my chair, "Winter" jumps in it. One night her and I were out in the kitchen. She was just laying on the floor. I started into the front room and she took off like a lightening bolt...I thought she was going to play (as she does that sometimes)....but oh no...she jumped into my chair before I got there!

And then there are days she gets behind me...like...'Mom, get out of MY chair"...ha ha

And finally she'll sit on the (narrow) arm of my chair, wanting...once again, to take possession of it! Silly girl!!!

I made this roast Sunday in the crock pot! It cooked all day and really got tender. And of course, who doesn’t love potatoes, carrots and onions with it! I had this for lunch today. Actually, it tasted better than it did Sunday.

Remember me telling you about the turkeys in my last post? Well, I was working in my office this afternoon and I heard..,'goggle-gobble-gobble', looked out and down the sidewalk they were going! I had to take it through the screen, so not a great photo. But there were several females walking ahead. See the blurry photo below.⬇️

We had a pretty sunset tonight. So glad our weather is nice.

On that note...I’m heading to bed.

Bye for now.🤗

Here was my Day

Look who came to visit me today...yep my first robin of the year! I know he’s confused by our springlike temperatures. But this week, he will know that he is way too early!

My friend and I were sitting outside today...the weather was so nice and the birds were singing! (As I was getting dressed this morning I heard the gobble-gobble of a yard full of turkeys! Ugggg) There were two toms with their feathers all fanned out! They had quite the entourage following them...ha! ha! Krystal took my Christmas decorations and lights off and put them away for another year! Do you have all your decorations down?

Yesterday there was a fire truck and ambulance at the neighbors down the street and “Winter” had to check it out...lol Noisy little girl.

My girlfriend called bright and early this morning and said she’d be over for coffee and would bring rolls! We had such a great visit (as we always do!).

Yesterday, another friend came by with her husband to visit. She had done some genealogy on my folks and on Tom.. it was so thoughtful of her. She said she just loves doing it and you can tell she has a passion for it!

I will end this post with this picture I captured one day, of a tree full of cardinals. There were more Papas at the feeder. Actually one for every Mama! So two more! Gotta love them!

Good night, from my little corner of the world to yours!

January —Brrrr

The first day of January began with this beautiful sunrise! I love walking through the kitchen in the morning and seeing these beautiful skies. On this particular day I watched (and took pictures) minute by minute as the sun crested the horizon. So meaningful!

The majority of these days have had some really pretty sunrises. I call this the ripple effect.

A couple days later...here was another one! I also love seeing the yellow lights glowing in my neighbors house as they were getting ready to go to school and work! (That is where my neighbor girl lives that cares for me!) She calls and looks in on me everyday. Plus, she cleans and meal preps for me. That keeps my freezer full.

Sunday, turned out cold and snowy. We did clean down in the basement. Which was nice, she got it all vacuumed and organized.

Monday was the aftermaths of Sunday’s s now.  Sometime late Sunday night my snow removal people came and cleaned my walks and driveway. At least their happy to see it snow. LOL Tom put this thermometer on this tree many years ago. That way we could out the kitchen window and see how hot or cold it was outside!

And of course the birds were hitting the feeders hard with the snow and cold.

I haven’t done too much this month—-which I can’t believe is half over already! Went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned and have a cavity—which I have to get filled in February. I also got a perm that same day!

It seems I have a lot to do...just takes me much longer to get it done.  How about you? Do you feel you’ve slowed down? Or has the world sped up?

I got a new computer, as I was using Version 7 which they no longer support or update-sad. So now I have Version 10. It is somewhat different but not too bad.  Seemed like when V-10 came out there were a lot of issues. But hoping they got all the bugs out of it by now!!

"Ms.Winter" is doing good. As always she's great company for me. She loves to play, especially with hair ties. They keep her busy for quite awhile. She loves to play fetch. I throw it and back she comes and drops it right in front of me...smart cat!

But speaking of Ms.Winter...she is tired and looking at me—like aren’t we going to bed anytime soon? Ha! So....I guess it’s time.

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world.

Bye for now...

Birds and Winter last 4 months

Winter says “Hi!"

I’m sure this is a young Mama Cardinal!

Winter enjoying  getting on Mom's desk!

A nuthatch enjoying the feeder!

And here is a Bluejay! You can sure hear them when their at the feeders!

The male Downy woodpecker...pretty, huh?

Here are Mama & Papa Cardinal and a Chick-a-Dee !

Here are two sets of Cardinals!

I believe this is a Thrust! It didn’t stay around for long..but I’ve noticed I’ve seen them around every year about this time!

And then we have the little House Finch!

And I end with Winter snuggled in my chair sleeping! And by the way this is where we’re heading—to bed!!

Goodnight...see you next year...2020!

Is it Really sliding into the End of the Year??

I cannot believe I haven’t posted for almost 4 months now. If you're on Facebook, you know I’m still alive and kicking! Actually, I’m still alive, not so sure about the kicking-Ha ha!

After my last post I did have to have emergency eye surgery. I was unable to look up for 2 weeks and couldn't see out of the eye for a little over 3 weeks.   It’s been a long recovery and am doing drops in both eyes for another couple months. However, I did have a great report in reference to the pressures last week. So that is wonderful!!

My son Randy took this picture, unbeknownst to me! And put it up on Facebook, while asking for prayers. Bless his heart!

Yes, fall arrived and my front room was all decorated with warm colors! It looks so pretty as the morning sun shines in through the window!

We even spotted a monarch butterfly as they were making their trip to Mexico!

I also had several cardinals this fall and winter.  (I plan on making another post of the birds I’ve spotted.)

One Saturday my grand and my greats came to visit-those are always such special times!

Here are Lorelai and Maggie! They are just too darn cute!

I even had a buck in my back and this fall!

My son and daughter-in-law took me to my great nieces wedding. It was so beautiful and fun!

Another weekend my other greats, Eden and Ivy came to visit. The are so cute and adorable!

Then the *snow* came along! Winter has arrived!

Some wonderful and surprising news! I had a call from Susan Branch's office back in the first part of November. She said an anonymous person bought me a cup of my choice! I was so excited - I started to cry, to think that someone would do that for me. I love the big cups for my coffee each morning, so I chose the one with the Corgi on it. The queens favorite dogs!!

I had to go in for my 6 month checkup on my MS.  Not far from their office there is a pond full of Canadian geese. Their here year round. I always love visiting it so I can snap a shot or two. And by the way my check up was good!

Here was my front room, all decorated for Christmas! Yes, my friend put my tree out before Thanksgiving...I really didn’t mind, as I love all the lights etc. But she also put it away right after Christmas. .  What do you do??

This was taken at my son and daughter in laws house on Thanksgiving. We were watching football, and the the greats. Those girls are all so adorable!

Every year our Bible study group celebrate Christmas, with snacks and a gift exchange. Our paster wasn’t able to come, we missed her. But we did have lots of fun!!

My neighbor girl who helps and cares for me..made this beautiful wreath.  It looks so pretty on my garage!

Here is my son, Randy and granddaughter Lorelai. He took her to the Father-daughter dance the first of December, as her dad was recuperating from having his appendix surgery.

Here are my Georgia peaches (smile). Daughter Brenda, granddaughters Amanda and Ashley. They were celebrating Christmas at Brenda and Johns house! Aren’t they beautiful?

I, on the other hand was at my son's house on Christmas. I was reading Maggie, a Dolly Parton book...on colors. When I finished she read (her story was made up from pictures in the book!) her book, on the red truck. Her story telling was amazing ! You can tell she gets read to a lot!!!

Before we left I got this picture of me with my greats..we were all laughing so hard, because Maggie and Lorelai's dad, was standing behind whoever was taking the picture and making rabbit ears...etc! Wish we would have had a camera to reverse this shot...ha!

And finally here is my Christmas picture of "Winter" and I by the fire.

I wanted to do a short recap  of the last four months, so am sorry I didn't use all the great photos I had.  But, each year I do a Blog2Print book, so needed to finish 2019, before I can do my 2020 resolution of blogging again. I hope you had a good year in 2019 and are looking forward to blessed new year in 2020!

Bye for now.
