Where Did Summer Go?

This was the view we had when Randy took me to the eye doctor. Turned out the last shot didn’t work so he put a pellet in it which should work for 3 months. Time will tell. Also today I found out I have to have eye surgery in the morning on my other eye. Uggg

One Sunday, Randy and Vicky invited me and Vicky’s mom, Sue over for supper. Vicky had made some amazing soup and Sue brought some chocolate zucchini bread she had made. Everything was wonderful !!! This is their cat “Smokey”, isn’t he handsome?? He found the perfect spot to sit and visit with me!! Ha Ha !!! His brother Bandit was not as outspoken! 😁

Last week I had company. Tom’s son (on the right) and his husband were in town visiting friends and family and were nice enough to stop by. Better yet, they brought muffins from Perkins restaurant!!! No, that was so thoughtful of them. We had a nice visit. They live in Orlando, Florida. They have two dogs, like Rusty. Both, same breed, age (about) and boys!!! They didn’t want to leave them at home. I didn’t get to see them (other than pictures) but thought that would have something Tom & I would have done with Rusty.

Here is Lorelai , my oldest great granddaughter already for her first day of school!! Isn’t she ‘oh so pretty’?

And look at Eden and Ivy!! Their first day of school!! Aren’t they just the cutest things you ever saw??

Lorelai just had a birthday and last weekend they all went to the state fair. Look at the stuffed animals they won! The big ones, (dad won) are like over 6’ tall—can you even imagine?? The smaller pink one, Lorelai won!! I’m sure she had a great birthday weekend!!

I always have to end with a new picture of “Winter”...so here we are!!

Bye for now💛

May and More

I can always tell it's springtime when the violets come into bloom! I love them!! I found this vase under my mother's sink after she passed. My mind immediately stepped back in time. I remember always picking violets for her, and she would be so happy and put them in this vase! They would sit in her windowsill over the kitchen sink. Sweet memories...

And then my lilacs would come into bloom. They were so pretty this year and of course they smelled amazing!! They too brought back a memory. My grandfather planted a lilac colored lilac bush at my aunt and uncles house and a white colored one at ours (actually it was close to the outhouse..lol)! My Mom was never happy with that color and always wished it was lilac in color. Well...now that I have a white one....I think I might understand. They do not have the lilac perfume smell that the colored one has. (And if that was part of the reason it was planted near the outhouse and didn't give out much of a smell...I can understand why Mom was unhappy with it! Ha Ha!)

The lily of the valleys were in full bloom too. They are so pretty and smell so good! A part of my driveway is lined with these.

This was a new bush that grew by my lilac tree. I do not know what it is. If you know I would love to find out. Maybe it just finally bloomed. I'm not sure.  But it was really pretty when it was in full bloom!!

On Mother's Day, my son and his wife Vicky came over for a visit. They brought me this gorgeous plant and planter! It is filled with beautiful petunias! I have it sitting on my front porch, and go out and water and deadhead it almost everyday. I will have to watch it the next several days...as it's to be up to 90 degrees!

My daughter and her husband sent me this card and bracelet for Mother's Day ! I love the pop-up card and the beautiful bracelet. ( The cross shape is so pretty.)

Since Memorial Day is in May we (my son Randy and I ) had to take a toad trip and go to the cemetery where Tom and his family are buried. They had so much rain up there, it was sad. The firlds had turned into lakes. And this is what the road to the cemetery looked like. Since my van is low to the ground we had to be careful not to bottom out.  Sad...

My friend Mary and I went out to eat in May to celebrate our birthdays! (Our October and January ones...ha!) I told you we had a bad winter!! It's always fun when we get together! Great food, friends and memories.

Here are the twins Eden and Ivy, already for their school program. I believe this was getting close to the  end of the school year. Aren't they adorable??

I must add a picture of Winter...this was in May of course. She had found her sun spot on the kitchen floor.

Today, a friend of mine who writes books, sent me a text this morning telling me she had received her Advanced Review Copies of her new mystery book and asked me if I'd be interested in reading it and posting a review on a few sites she mentioned? Of course I said YES! I cannot wait to get it! I will share my review with you. Any one love mysteries??

Well, time for bed. Bye for now.

Happy Halloween

I had visitors this afternoon.... She (the clown) scared me almost to death when she walked in.  I didn't even realized it was my friend/caregiver.. ha! Then I knew when her children followed her in. It is always fun when they come by, especially on Halloween!! ha! ha! I thought their costumes were amazing...

A couple days before my twin great granddaughters came by. They were selling popcorn for a school fundraiser.. And of course grandma wanted to buy some.. This popcorn is amazing...we used to buy it at the Farmers Market, as they had a booth down there. Tom would say, lets try this one and this one..ha! It's a wonder we didn't gain a million pounds!! ~smile~

Normally whenever kids come to the door to sell their items for school I buy them, as I know what it's like to do that. It takes courage to knock on that door!! I don't remember doing this, but my girlfriend Mary, told me I sold hers along with mine, as she didn't have the nerve to try and sell them..ha ha  Did you ever do that??

Another bird....we call it a "snow bird", because it has a dark body, with a white belly..Their official name is a 'dark eyed Junco'. They too are pretty though.

Our weather has been pretty nice. I have to get out tomorrow morning. But it sounds like we're to get some rain/snow tomorrow night. I feel it's way too early for that again. I will share pictures of our first snow we had tomorrow.

Bye for now...

First Day of Preschool

On August 30th, the twins, Eden and Ivy, started preschool.. Their mommy put this picture up on Facebook. Here is what she said..

"We started preschool today! The girls were a little hesitant to let us go, but we didn't have any tears. 😍Except mom, but I held it together until the parking lot. 😭#1stdayofpreschool #kiddiecrusaders #wheredidmybabiesgo"

It always surprises me how fast they all grow! One minute their little babies...and then their in school!! They are soooo sweet! They will do fine...as they'll always have a friend! ~smile... Mom was telling me how she had asked how school went one particular day. Eden said, Ivy didn't want to run, so she said...I stayed back with her and didn't run either.... ha! (Now no one knows for sure..but maybe...just maybe Eden didn't want to run either...ha! ha! )

How have all of you been? We had summerlike weather this week, but starting this weekend it's starting to cool down and be more like fall. I feel so bad, I have a lot to write about but just never seem to get it done...ugggg!

Blessings...stay well and safe..

This and That and Prayer Request

Last Saturday we had our South Bottoms Reunion and my son and daughter the in love took me. It was nice and so good to see everyone. But, this was something Tom really enjoyed as it was where he used to live when he was young. He was missed by everyone, but especially me.

Doesn't our world look green??? We've had so much rain this spring it's certainly given us a pretty world!!

When we were heading home, I saw these ominous skies... Looks bad, but we didn't have any rain out of it. (Thank goodness).

Speaking of rain..I spotted all these little mushrooms along a tree root in the yard one day. They are pretty in their own unique way.

Now who doesn't love to play in the rain??? Especially when your young, and you just have to splish and splash in every puddle...smile...

As I end this post I ask you for prayers for my sister in law who is in the hospital. I went up today to see her. Not sure if they will have to do surgery or not.

Good night..

Double the Fun, Ivy and Eden Style

Our twin Great Granddaughters, Ivy and Eden, had their 3rd birthday party yesterday!! Their daddy is putting up the "happy birthday" sign!

Their grandpa brought in these Wheelies for them. So, they were excited and trying to ride them around the tables and chairs. smile..

My Daughter in Love (their grandma) took these close up pictures. If you look really hard, you'll see a redish arrow at the top of the picture. That's me...so the rest of the photos that I took-below- I had to zoom in across the room! smile..

Here their opening presents, (please forgive me I still have a hard time telling them apart)! Mom helped one and...

Dad helped the other twin!!

Look at those beautiful cakes. Their grandma made them...she did an amazing job!!! One of the girls wanted "Hello Kitty", the other wanted "Minnie Mouse"!!! AMAZING!

What a fun day it was... the only thing missing was their Papa Tom...

Blessings...

Lorelai's Birthday Party

Lorelai with her crown for the day!! Along with so many gifts....

Isn't this cool?? The tables were reserved for Lorelai's birthday party!!

After going out front and playing in so many games, it was time to open presents!!

And looking at all those pretty cards.

Of course her twin cousins were there watching, playing and helping her open presents. Adorable aren't they??

And blowing out her candles on her cool ice cream cake!! (And yes it was delicious!!)

Here she is with Mom and Dad!!!

Lorelai sent her dad into the ticket blaster!! The more tickets, the more rides or gifts for her to get!!

All in all it was a fun filled day!!

Busy Saturday

It was that time again...Tom needed a hair cut! So we headed off to go to his barbers. I was able to sit out in the van and read a book I had brought along! smile.. It worked out great as there was only one ahead of him..but it started filling up afterwards! Then we thought we'd make a trip to the Farmers Markets! Tom found a spot in the Handicap parking lot. (It's not very big, so there was only two spots left.) Due to this shortage of parking spaces, one car had parked in between the rows of cars, which blocked several cars in,  and they couldn't leave! (I had noticed a police car pull in.) Well, as we went down the center aisle of all the vendors, I saw a policeman walking with this little old lady, as we passed by I heard him say, "We just need to find you a better parking spot." He was being so kind to her. (Bless his heart!) She must have been the one who blocked all those cars in and they must have called the police.

Here is our friend Laurie, (she filled all our pots with plants out on the porch). We just had to stop and say "Hi" and get a bouquet of fresh cut flowers from her. (I will share a pic tomorrow, they are gorgeous!) It was so funny, Tom was carrying them and people would remark, "boy, you've got a keeper!", or they'd look at him and say "good job!"...of course I'd have to agree with them! smile...

We also stopped over to see Audrey and her family. Her son (in the background) raises tomatoes and other vegetables. We picked up some of his cherry tomatoes and of course a jar of his Mom's jelly (Rhubarb and strawberry! Yumm)

Lot at those clouds...pretty and unique huh?

We had quite a surprise yesterday. My daughter in love called and said they would like to come over. (With all four great grandbabies!) I was so excited. (We were actually out and about.) After we had a bite to eat, we headed home and here come the twins along with their Meme! The other two Greats weren't able to come as baby Maggie had an upset tummy and had to go home. But these little girls were such a delightful treat. They have grown so much and are so adorable!!

We're having lightening and are in a Thunderstorm Warning...so am signing off.

Bye for now...

I Promised You...

I told you I'd tell you who else came to visit. smile... Yep, the twins came to our house. Aren't they just adorable??

The girls went outside with Amanda and did the bubbles...

Look at all the bubbles!! I'm not sure, but I think she wasn't all that fond of the fact that someone was taking her picture.

They certainly had a good time...our weather was beautiful that day!! Some of the bubbles landed on our glass front door, and they were trying to wipe it off...ha...ha.. I love it!!

Last week was amazing...lots of lovin going on! I am so thankful for that time we had with our family...

Hope all of you have been enjoying your 'spring'. We're hoping to get some rain this week. We really need it. How about you, anyone need moisture too??

Well, I'm back, so will try to start posting regularly again..smile..
