Friends & Family

I spotted this scene the other day when I was out and about! Don’t you just love it when their leaves spread all over the ground?? Like someone shook them or their undressing for the winter😊

I saw all these sparrows trying to find some seed on the patio. This was just before the rain! They must have known what was coming. Ha! The news just said that we got a total of a little over a half of an inch. I let Rusty out for the night and as the cold air coming rushing in through the door, I hurried and closed it !!! Then I thought about one of Gladys Tabers remarks from one of her books, how each night as she let her dogs out she would stick her head out the door and take a big whiff of the night air!!! So....that is exactly what I did..I braved the cold night air. ~smile~  Actually this week our highs will be in the 40’s and by next week we’ll only have highs in the 30’s....uggg

Look who came over for a visit!!! I was soooo excited!!! Little Maggie and Miss Lorelai!! My daughter-in-love (their Meme) brought me over a Grecian dinner! The Holy Trinity Grecian church put on a dinner today. So she got a carry out for me. It was very good as always and so thoughtful of her to do this. But of course, the best part was bringing the girls over!!! I really enjoyed loving up on them with lots of ((hugs))!!

Then....what a surprise.....my friend stopped by for a visit.  I really miss her since she moved about 100 miles away. She was here visiting with her family. Her Mom was with her, so got a couple ((hugs)) from them too!! After Tom passed away, she was one of the girls who I had come to help me. We just hit it off right away!!! We truly live in a small world. Turned out, as a child her family lived next door to a couple who were great friends of ours. Who
knew?? Do you have that happen to you?? There is a saying about Six degrees of separation. Have you seen or read about this theory??

I’ve got to get to bed and train my body and mind that it is now an hour    later. Ha!

Bye for now......

Colors of Autumn this Year

What a beautiful sunrise we had the other morning!! As always the camera doesn't do it justice.

Since I took lots of pictures and never put up any posts I thought I'd share some of our color!! Isn't this cute?? This display was in front of our local grocery store.. I wish that those mums would last longer than they do. But they pretty!!!

Not a great photo, but as we were buzzing down the highway, I thought you could see the color changing from green to yellow...

And of course this strip of road is always so pretty in the fall. But some years are so much more colorful..

These trees are so bright and full of color...but look at them. They look like they've dropped most of their leaves.

And then I saw the yellow tree standing out one afternoon!! Pretty huh?? smile.. I always love looking out my window and seeing some unexpected beauty!!

I had a busy day, which I will share with you tomorrow. But am tired tonight, so will close for now.

Blessings and goodnight...

Halloween??

I found this picture that I took a few years ago. I just couldn't believe how perfect it was. The wind was blowing that day and it really looked like this little ghost was flying!! smile.. Course I added a few lightening strikes etc.. (but thought it was perfect for Halloween!)

The other evening around six at night, the sun was going down in the west and it just lit up our trees in the east. I said to Tom, can you believe how much more beautiful those trees are?? smile... (And you all know how much I love "yellow"..smile)

When my friend was here Wednesday we spotted 4, yes...four Papa cardinals in the lilac bush. Two of them flew away before I could grab my camera, get it out of the bag, turn it on and snap the picture..sad.. But..she saw them too... Can you see the two of them, one upper left corner and one in the lower right. You can tell their food that their use to finding is gone with fall and winter close by. They are now hitting our feeders! (which we love)

We're in for a very cold night tonight...how about you do you have cooler temps too??

Good night...

Squirrels are so entertaining...

We spotted this little guy on our suet feeder. He was busy eating...and eating!  Then...all of a sudden he got scared, so he climbed up on top and looked around. Actually, it was a neighbors dog chasing some turkeys out of their yard. lol

This was the view out the window this morning. I thought it was so pretty.

Here is Rusty barking at the neighbors cat who was in 'his' yard! smile... The two photos on the bottom, are suppose to be the same, the first one was taken in the morning, the second was later in the afternoon. It seemed as the day went by the gold trees got more color to them. smile...

How did you spend your day? I hope it was lovely and you enjoyed some rest.

Birthday Wishes-Fall Colors-and Twins

Wednesday our friend Sherry came, with a chocolate cake and this humungous birthday card for Tom... (She didn't come last week since I was getting a perm.) Her 3 year old granddaughter colored and put sticker in the card.. sweetness.....

Remember those volunteer Wood violets? We finally picked a couple of them! Aren't they pretty in that cute little green vase?? I found it in my mothers cupboards after she passed away years ago. It brought back such wonderful memories. I remember picking violets in the spring for her and she would put them in this vase!!

We went through a park the other day. The trees were turning, sooo pretty.

The band shelter where bands play.

This is the water tower, isn't it neat? I love how they have painted it. (I will put up another photo another day, that shows how big this is!)

Some more fall colors. Gods beauty!!!!

Last night Vicky brought the twins over to visit!! Aren't they just adorable?? They did warm up and had fun giving Rusty little treats! smile.. He was quite entertaining...ha..

These are just a few pictures showing our week, which has been absolutely amazing! Our temps have been in the 70's, windows open, breathing fresh air. Ahhh... Love it!! Yesterday, I decided it was so nice, I wanted to sit out on the front porch. Which I did, but then the nats ambushed me, it was terrible.. so...back into the house I went. sad...
I hope you're in for a nice weekend.

A Visitor...

This morning little Lorelai came to visit...smile... (I played with PicMonkey to make this picture..smile..

She was so funny...we have a bowl on the coffee table that holds all our keys, and the next thing we knew she had them all...and away she went...smile... Another funny...her Mommy was on the phone and was over by the door...so Lorelai..grabbed the diaper bag and was thinking of trying to pull it towards her Mommy... "Like...you're not leaving out that door without me...lol..."

Yesterday was our Red Hat Luncheon day...this was the look of the skies as we headed to the restaurant.

We were greeted by these flowers, aren't they beautiful? My luncheon consisted of Lobster Quiche and a Chicken Salad Sandwich...yummmm...It was all very delicious...

Our Granddaughter Ashley, too this picture yesterday on top of Green Mountain, in Alabama...isn't it pretty?? Don't you just love Fall??? I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Pumpkins and Snow....

Yesterday was a cool rainy one! We went after Tom's medicines and this is what we spotted! Our neighbors front yard is filled with pumpkins, gourds and squashes. So pretty!!!

Then, on down the street this yard was also full of decorations..smile.. I love this time of the year. There seems to be decorations in everyone's yard or porch!

And then, this  was natures decoration, tree standing tall with leaves of gold...falling upon the ground! I think this is the prettiest of them all...smile...

As we were heading back home in the rain, this was what our street looked like! Full of fall colors...

Today, the rain turned to *snow*...can you believe it was snowing in October?? Way too early I think!!

Tom looked out the door and noticed these deer resting in our neighbors yard...I said..."here's the camera take a picture of them!" So he had to step our into the cold and snap this shot!!! Bless his heart!! I have been busy working on the newsletter. I'm hoping to do more tomorrow and drop some stories into it and see how much more I need!! smile... Always seems like I have enough until I actually drop them all in and then I have to scurry around and find something to fill in the blanks...smile...

Hope you have been having a wonderful week. Have you had any snow yet????

Changing of the Colors

Yes, it was time to change my wreath on our front door! smile....  How about you? Have you done any changes in your decorations yet? Of course, that was as far as I got today...smile.. as we had company, but there is always another day.

Hope you had a blessed SONday!

Fall is in the Air???

Sunday when I saw this tree, my first thoughts were...can fall be far away?? This tree always becomes so beautiful in the autumn time... Looks like it's going to turn early this year...

You've heard of birds on a wire...well, here we have birds on the branches...smile... They just fill our trees and eat the bird feed...in droves...smile.. Tom's not happy with them, but I figure they have to eat too...

My daughter Brenda, in Georgia said she had these pretty little birds on her front porch today. They weren't afraid of her and she said...she could have touched them...but she didn't...smile.... She asked what I thought they were...I believe their Common Ground Doves. Anyone have a different idea what they are??

Tom spotted this neighborhood cat..climbing up one of our trees. Actually it's a big lilac bush...so it soon ran down just as quickly as it climbed up.

I started taking my new antibiotics today...so....here goes...hopefully they will improve my health. Had another busy day...working on the Bugle...it won't be long and I'll have it all done and in the mail...smile..
Our weather has really turned much cooler this week. It was 20 degrees cooler today than yesterday... Ahhh...if you know me, you know I'm loving it!! What did you do today?

Cool Fall Day...

We woke up this morning expecting to have some 'white' stuff on the ground.  However, the only thing close to it were the 'cooler' temperatures... smile... Later in the morning we did have a little rain, but again not hardly enough to get the ground wet.  Our temperatures only got up to 48 degrees and the wind was blowing most of the day, so we choose to stay in. Tom made some homemade vegetable soup. smile... which happens to be one of my favorite soups and especially when it's made with a soup bone and love!! smile....

What did you do today? I pray your day and your weather is good. Please join me in prayer for those out east who are without electricity and heat. amen

Blessings and good night...........

Happy November 1st!!

This was one of those Red Letter days...smile... Son Randy came over to help move a portable fireplace from Karen's apartment over here. We hope to use it in the basement this winter. Karen needed a little more room in her apartment and the apartments are plenty warm!! smile... (lucky us...smile...)

After Randy left I looked out the window and saw this 'big' woodpecker working on the suet!! And I think he finished it off...as it was all gone tonight!! Tomorrow Tom will fill them back up again!!! smile....

Tom got a call yesterday afternoon that his glasses were done, so this morning he ran out there to get them...only to find out that only his sunglasses came in:( Then later this afternoon they called again, to say his glasses had come in! So we went out and got them.....as we were coming home we noticed this CHRISTmas tree in front of our Museum! I thought what???????????? I wondered how long it's been there..

I spotted these pretty flowers when we were sitting at a stop light...still pretty aren't they??? It was 18 as a low last night so...if they were going to freeze off that would have done it...smile....

The heart of Autumn must have broken here, And poured its treasure out upon the leaves.

Later when we came home we took Rusty out for a short walk...our weather was very nice! I took this picture..then when we got home and I read Susan Branch's blog. She had this saying on her blog...don't you just love it???  If you've never checked out her blog...it is a must! You'll never regret it...smile...

Hope your week is going well........
